The Voyeurs

I did actually think this was a half decent film - it's definitely watchable and has an interesting storyline. I do feel there were twists - to say there weren't is silly... there were.

The ending as another reviewer said was a bit umm rubbish - and very unbelievable.

But the concept of the film was different and it did keep me hooked - there weren't any sort of 'oh wow!' moments more 'ohhh ok' ...it's a solid 6/10.

'The Voyeurs' feels kind of like a 90's erotic thriller, albeit one on a much bigger budget. Maybe there's a little bit of homage to that long-departed era?

To the plot: A couple moves into a new apartment together and can look across the way into the next building where they see, on their first night, a couple having sex. It becomes a bit of an obsession from there (one that would have been averted if either apartment had had blinds!) and things quickly take a dark turn into a world of voyeurism and exhibitionism.

'The Voyeurs' is decent entertainment, with a few twists and turns...even though it stretches the bounds of credulity to somewhere close to breaking point.

Sydney Sweeney is the main star of this Amazon Studios production, and if your happen to like seeing her with little or no clothes on, this is a movie you should check out. There are multiple sex scenes.

The story is decent. Doesn't exactly keep you on your toes but does a decent job at entertaining you. There's liberal use of sexually explicit scenes which is intended to carry the film when the plot gets slow. The climax is somewhat unexpected which is nice.

This feels like a throwback to 90s erotic thrillers and I don't mind that. They're usually pretty entertaining regardless of quality and The Voyeurs mostly follows this. The film drags a little bit in the middle, but some wild twists keep things interesting. I kinda wish the film ended after the first big twist because the second was pretty ridiculous. The atmospheric cover of Eyes Without a Face is fantastic and honestly makes the film worth watching just for that. I can't get it out of my head.

Oh and my god what is wrong with Justice Smith's voice. Completely took me out of the movie.

This was categorized in Amazon as young adult and drama. What?!? This is a seriously dark and twisted erotic thriller with lots of disturbing things happening. I almost didn't watch thinking this was a teenage movie but it's not. Very much for adults only. I feel the reviews are harsh. It's really like two movies in one.
