Overall, I like the message of this episode, genuinely, I do. But the songs, again with the songs. In the early days songs were rare, which made them special.
A few seasons back, the Simpsons fell into a rut where every episode had a song, and not a good one. For a minute there, I felt we were out if it, but once again were in this loop where every episode has /at least/ one song, usually more. They're not well done at all. They drag me out of the episode and are just a deluge of cringe and unpleasantness. Especially now that Julie Kavner's voice has been so shot that it prevents her from singing, which means they have to get a voice double for her songs and only hers, it's just painful. I want the Simpsons to continue ad infinitum, I want to reach a thousand episodes, to revive itself, to get the zeitgeist again and renew its spark. Give voice actors like Kavner a break, start working on finding people to take over once the actor can't perform any more. I'm sure there are plenty of people who can do the voices by now, ease them in, give Kavner a week off and have her understudy do the voice. Regardless, the singing, every episode with the singing and the songing, that's not the way to keep the show alive and will probably kill it faster than one of the main stars dying.

Maybe one of my favorite episodes ever. Whole new level for the Simpsons. I felt the needed to leave this review because I was so moved by the episode. I am looking forward to what else this season has to bring!
This episode made me cry. It's so well done, and casts light on an issue many women have faced in their lives. And to show it starting so young is amazing. To those that complained this episode wasn't "funny enough", not every sitcom is minute-by-minute laughs. They have serious episodes too.
This is one of the best Simpson episodes I have seen in a while. It feels like it belongs in the simpsons from 20 years ago when the show had noticeably more heart.
Happy to see it. It's an important episode.

Everyone is mentioning how good the water park scene is and let me tell you why, It had the first joke in Simpsons history that made me laugh 4 minutes straight. It sounds like I am faking it but I promise I am not I laughed to the point of tears coming out of my eyes. The joke was Homer didn't know the name of his childhood water park got changed and Marge told him I told you earlier that they changed it and in a really funny way Homer said that's the problem with you Marge your always kidding around. It is so funny you need to watch the clip to understand it and it is at the very start of the episode. Either I was really over tired or the joke is just hilarious, Give my review a thumbs up if you think the joke is hilarious. I praise this scene as the best Simpsons scene and really carried the terrible plot of the episode to make it good.

- WissenswertesDr. Wendy Sage, the hypnotherapist, is a breast cancer survivor. This is seen from her visible port-o-cath scar, "uniboob", and curly hair regrowing from chemotherapy. Dr. Sage is voiced by Renee Ridgeley, who is also a breast cancer survivor.
