Episodes 1 and 2 were great. Very promising. Gory and suspenseful with, what I was hoping would be, a powerful character building episodes. Then episode 3 came along, which felt like a typical American serial filler. No reason for it and no connection. A jarring rubbish episode that did absolutely nothing. And then episode 4 turned it into a sex musical! Why? I just gave up at this point. Why oh why can't Americans pull together a good linear story with no fillers or weird moments? This could have been so good but instead it just turned into a load of cinematic tropes and cliches with no redeeming features.

When the whole premise of the film is explained by a minor character in the first three minutes, and the first five minutes are so cliched, you know you're watching a stinker. Add to that the godawful arty farty camera work and it's best to stop watching and go bake a cake. The continual zoom in/zoom out/zoom in/zoom out/ wobbly handheld camera work made me feel seasick!

And talking of cliches, it's so boring when one of the characters has all the answers in a suitcase under her bed. Handily everything she needs to know is in a diary, along with compromising photos, taken by an invisible third person.

I'm assuming that this will somehow feed into the MCU in some way, which ran out of steam after Avengers: Endgame. If this film doesn't end the whole super hero franchise then nothing will.

I really enjoyed season one of The Witcher, so much so that I bought the books and really enjoyed them. So it was with some trepidation that I watched season two. But it didn't disappoint.

Henry Cavill was an inspired choice and continues to be brilliant in the role of Geralt of Rivia. Anya Chalotra is excellent as Yennifer of Vengerberg. Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra is great. Joey Batey as Jaskier provides the right amount of humour for the series.

This series shows The Wheel of Time what a good fantasy series should be like. Let's hope season three keeps up the good work.
