Cherokee Hair Tampons is a fairly funny but also somewhat depressing South Park episode.Kyle is sick and needs a kidney transplant. However Kyle's mother is taking him to this new herbal medicine place. It is the new fad. They think it is making him better when it is really making him worse.Stan is sad because he wants to help his friend, he then finds out the only suitable kidney doner is Cartman.Cartman will not give it to Kyle because well...he's an a**hole! The herbal store is run by two characters who are voiced by Cheech & Chong!(for those who d'ont know cheech & chong, they were a stoner comedy duo like Harold & Kumar from the late 70's & early 80's).Meanwhile, the school decides to give Mr.Garrison a leave from teaching. So he decides to write a romance novel. However it turns out to be mostly about penises! This is a fairly good episode with some really funny moments(and also a bit of drama)!
Well, this is a notable episode because it tackles on holistic medicine! It's great that "South Park" has been debunking stuff for so long. I had no idea that Cheech and Chong actually did voices here. It seemed like they were going to turn out to be the villains. They were actually just being manipulated by Miss Information. I love the joke where Sheila says that with a name like "Information" she must be right. Anyway, the story is that Kyle needs a kidney.
The only possible donor is Cartman! The way it's resolved is very clever, especially seeing as how everyone, even the doctor was willing to trick Cartman! I dare not spoil it here. I love how Kenny complains about him always dying. Yes, I know about toxins but flushing them out doesn't solve everything. It's a good lesson about getting the right medical treatment. ***1/2.

- CuriosidadesMr. Garrison's novel "In the Valley of the Penises" spoofs Más allá del valle de las muñecas (1970), the X-rated 1969 Russ Meyer movie for which Roger Ebert, movie critic, wrote the screenplay. Trey Parker was disgusted over Ebert's review for South Park: Más grande, más largo y sin cortes (1999), citing 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls' as a reason Ebert should have been more positive in his review.
