Quest for Love

This movie is terrible as it's supposed to be about a man and a woman recognizing their romantic love for each other. However with the casting and how they wrote the script this is totally unbelievable as the two guys were a much better fit for each other than either one with the woman. I don't have a problem with that but I just couldn't buy into the guys being straight and interested in the woman.

I mean they made one of the male love interests use his phone to quick check and fix his hair because he was supposed to be smitten with the girl. It just looked so contrived and fake and not something that 99% of the men in this world would do.

The same guy also had a panic attack on a jungle adventure course and the female lead held his hand and said it would all be OK and she would cheer for him. Then he could cheer for her and all would be great. After that she said she liked him because of his vulnerability and ability not to be toxically masculine (I'm paraphrasing but in essence that is what she said).

Of course the woman could diagnose a dying car battery after she opened the hood of the car and moved some wires around. All while the two men were helplessly standing by not knowing what to do with the complicated machine that was a mystery to them.

This movie is an attempt to push a world view that doesn't mix well with the supposed story they are trying to tell. Overall it is a confusing mess of story and messages that aren't supported by the actors that were chosen or how they were instructed to act.

Unrealistic sounds as first conclusion after its end.

Because poor Ethan seems the good gay friend and the moral dilemma , as the end are obvious forced.

Because Mackenzie is the strong woman, dedicated to her job, friendship and her dilemmas are, in same measure, artificial . And Lucas , he seems be to be.

Sure, few nice scenes , Jake Stormoen as a sort of younger Ewan McGregor ( and some charme of him ) , the busines seems have a too easy solution and the nature saves a lot this film who seems based on improvised story.

So, temptation to be harsh critic about it but, with indulgence , pretty nice sounds...reasonable to polite.

One of the Best movies ever!

Loved it!!! Wholesome, romantic, adorable, so cute. Get ready for smiles and laughter throughout the movie!

The story is so good!!! A++++++++++ The main characters were so good at acting and their story was super well done and encouraging. Uplifting! It was filled with Christian principles. The setting was stunning. Great family movie 🎬 get out the popcorn 🍿 and enjoy a family friendly movie that is a great love story! Without giving too much away, the main characters do not understand their love for each other until their love is challenged by circumstances on a business trip to Costa Rica. Very touching. True love lasts.

Of course, this movie is completely cheesy and has a predictable ending like every movie in this television romance genre, but I think it is a really sweet one. There is a really good chemistry between the main characters and a cute, fresh and slightly different plotline than the hundreds of these movies made for Hallmark, Great American Family, etc..It is also nice seeing some new talent instead of the normals. I would like to see the 4 main characters in some more movies actually. The setting of Costa Rica isn't typical either. If you like the cheesy, simple romances that are popped out for television, this one is a good one.

My wife and I were fooled by the relatively high IMDb rating for this movie, almost "7". However the story is pretty lame, the characters are pretty lame, and the script is pretty lame. What saves it and provides some entertainment is the ___location, beautiful Costa Rica. Assuming it was really filmed there. But wherever it was filmed it is a beautiful place with rain forest, lakes, and water falls.

Ethan is an author, his adventure books are successful. But his publisher wants him to appeal to an even wider audience by adding some romance to his stories.

Mackenzie is his good friend, she reads his manuscripts and gives him hints. They are "just friends" but we sense that she would like for it to be more. She is trying to work a deal for more Cocao powder for the chocolate business she works for, to fulfill a bigger contract. She has to take a business trip to Costa Rica and suggests that Ethan go too, it might help him be creative.

There they meet Lucas, a seemingly nice guy who falls for Mckenzie quickly, but she isn't sure. And when Ethan observes this he starts to get jealous and to realize how much he cares for her.

Not a very good movie but for us it was reasonably entertaining after a steak and wine at home. Streaming on FreeVee.
