Not only did it not suck, but it was one of my favorite MCU movies. The team dynamic was fun and didn't feel forced at all. Each member is a damaged broken person. Some were made into weapons by monsters and others just wanted to do good and lost their way. Some may argue with me on this, but this was the humor from phase 1 that sometimes felt forced and really not that funny, but when it did hit I laughed. Florence Pugh is a star that naturally steals scenes, but the others didn't let it happen long. I was happy to see John Walker get redemption, because I thought he was one of the only good things from Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Sam and Bucky were great also, but Walker was done dirty. He killed people so he's ruined never mind the fact the terrorist he killed was part of the group that just killed his friend and American soldier. It's like they forgot Steve Rogers didn't kill anyone. I don't want to say too much more so I don't ruin anything. So if you're like me and you really have not been crazy about any marvel movies in a long time go see this one. It's fun, well written,
great cast, great character writing, and entertaining.
I love the og Dexter and I stuck with it all the way through and suffered the finale. New Blood was meh, but without the charm of the characters from Miami Metro it was not the same. This series did a great job casting the younger characters. Some look like the younger version and the ones that don't exactly look like the character are so good at portraying them that it doesn't matter to you. I really hope that how this moves forward is keep Brian in the series. Follow him so we have a view of Dexter and Brian two monsters, but one we accept because he only hurts bad people *for the most part* and the other is a monster that would be Dexter without the code. I wasn't sure about Patrick Gibson at first, but when he goes dark he nails it. Each time he sounds more confident and righteous with each kill.
Maybe it's just been so long since we got an epic like this or maybe it's actually good. Either way I was in the theater with a cheesy smile on my face from beginning to end. Mescal doesn't live up to Crowe, but really who could. Denzel was fantastic, Pedro Pascal was great. The cons of this movie is the almost impossible coincidences that continually happen in this movie, but I will argue that part 1 is no different in this aspect. Try not to think too much and just enjoy the show and be happy you're back in that world. It felt great to be back in and I think the action was great. It may have had more action and definitely had more gore than the original. Long story short grab your popcorn and just have a good time for 2 and half hours. "Strength and honor"
