Okay, this movie had all the pieces to be a fun movie. Jesica Alba is still good. She absolutely could carry off an action movie. The supporting characters worked. And it does a good job of keeping you wondering just who exactly was going to be a good guy and who was going to be a bad guy in the end.
Yes...
holy crap how it fails. The movie literally craps all over itself with bad edits, and I mean epically bad edits. One of my favorites was of the father laying on the slab, who knows how many days after the guy had died just rotting away waiting for Jess to sneak into the morgue and cry next to his body.
I figure Jessica owed someone a favor and thats why she decided to be in this thing. I'm sorry for her. She deserves better.

It's too bad. I mean I really like Donald Glover. The show, I think is suppose to be taking off with the death of the previous mr and miss smith from the movie. They dont really say.
It then moves into a weird recruitment storyline that is marginally amusing but rapidly turns into, as I said, Mostly unwatchable trash.
The music is monotonous.
The missions they are sent on are boring and mostly irrelevant to not just the audience but to the stars, Glover and whomever the girl is, themselves.
Basically if James Bond was on Ativan, you'd have Mr and Miss Smith.
Watch if ya like. I made it to three episodes and checked out.

The show is completely non-sensical. It follows the lives of people after a supernatural event except the event seems to still be happening. Is it biblical? Who knows. Is it magical, or alien, or something else? Who knows.
The entire series reminds me of "The Happening" with Mark Walberg. Except in the case of that movie, it made more sense.
The actors are great. The directors often have some serious name recognition behind them, but so what?
If you had a group master Chessmasters play a competition of tic tac toe, would that be good?
It has moments, after all, I'm still here watching it. I still can't for the life of me however, tell anyone why.
