It's cute and watchable, but I think they missed the mark on Mat Bomer's character. They are making his character seem stupid and I don't think that's what they want. Look at Rose from Golden girls or Georgette from Mary Tyler Moore Show. They were naive, but neither of them were stupid. Linda Lavin and Nathan Lane fit well as Mother and Son. I was excited to hear he was getting a tv show and he didn't disappoint. I've only seen episode 1 so far, but I plan on watching the rest. I'll give them this, they absolutely picked a wonderful cast. And to be honest, I'm happy they aren't straight men playing gay roles.
For something so anticipated was a great let down
They used transporters. That's about as Star Trek as this show gets. Actually, I thought it was more like Mission Impossible. Your mission, should you accept it. If you fail Star Fleet will disavow. Etc etc.
Not only did you not like any of the characters, it was like they actively wanted you to dislike them.
These are supposed to be Section 31 top covert operatives, acted more like a bunch of high school kids who had no clue what they were doing.
There was a lot of fighting, a lot of explosions and even a bit of love interest, sort of. But all in all definitely a one timer.

I know Ruby Rose was popular in Orange, but as Kate Kane I found her performance to be lackluster and dull. Like she was just putting in the time.
Javicia's performance at least had some emotion and range to it. As was stated previously, the character of Ryan is still learning the suit, and is coming to terms with her life. I'm going to watch and see how the show and the character grows. I would, however, like to see a new villain and get rid of Alice. She's become annoying.
