Of course, there is going to be a problem when Frank and Margaret must give up their command (actually, Frank's command, but you know....). Sherman Potter, regular Army, but a skilled surgeon, comes to run the camp. There is worry on all sides. Frank takes it like a man and throws a temper tantrum and leaves the camp. Radar begins to bond with the Colonel and he proves to be a kind, though tough, man, a veteran of World War 1. It's one of those things where you know and respect someone when you actually see them work. B. J. is settling in, perhaps a little faster than seems realistic, but then the series has to get on with business. Frank is back in the swamp which is not good for him or his bunkies. So this establishes the series the rest of the way (except, of course, for Charles Emerson Winchester). Good foundation episode.

- TriviaThis episode was originally to be the opener for season 4 and to be played out pretty much as it did with the only difference in the original story being Trapper John at the 4077th rather than BJ Hunnicutt, thus having Col. Potter meeting the well famous duo of Hawkeye and Trapper. But shortly before filming for season 4 began, Wayne Rogers had decided to leave the series following a contract dispute, thus leading the producers to hire Mike Farrell and write off Rogers' character of Trapper and bring in Farrell's character,Capt. McIntyre's replacement Capt. BJ Hunnicutt in what ended up being the season 4 opener and predecessor to this episode, "Welcome to Korea."
- ErroresIn this episode from Season 4, Col. Potter is introduced as assuming command over the 4077 in September of 1952. Later, in Season 9, Episode 6, everyone at the MASH (including Potter himself) is seen celebrating New Year's of 1951.

Klinger: Colonel Potter, sir; Corporal Klinger. I'm section eight, Head to toe. I'm wearing a Warner bra. I like to play with dolls. My last wish is to be buried in my mother's wedding gown. I'm nuts. I should be out.
Col. Potter: Horse-hockey.
