Avis à la une
My daughters enjoyed this & picked up on the characters positive mindset. I love how they have subtly introduced the concept of a growth mindset with some mindful breathing thrown in. We need more shows like this with positive role models - possibly aimed at a slightly older audience. I hope Netflix release another season.
At times it's a little sickly sweet but my kids didn't mind.
Dear review section, not every show is supposed to be the next Sesame Street in terms of impact or ground broke. I'm not saying it's okay to make bad shows, but the show is ultimately harmless and cute, plus it at least tries, unlike some certain preschool shows.
This show is from the creators of Blue's Clues, and is sort of like Blue's Clues because it has a human interacting with non-human characters, and both combine animation and live-action. Gabby is a very strong protagonist, who acts as the big good and peacekeeper of the dollhouse, plus she's a great role model for black girls.
The cats in the dollhouse are very memorable and unique. Baby Box's animation is very unique because it's stilted and slow to make it appear as if she's in stop-motion, which is quite impressive to do in CGI. My favorite cat is CatRat, he's hilarious and brings a lot of humor and snark to what otherwise would be a very saccharine show. Plus, he's voiced by Donovan Patton (aka Joe from Blue's Clues and Bot from Team Umizoomi) and you can't go wrong with him. Cakey is so annoying when she cries though.
It's just very comforting and promotes imaginative play, problem solving, and social and emotional skills. Although I think Cakey's crying is annoying, I like the lesson on deep breathing that comes afterwards in the first episode.
Check it out if you have kids, boys and girls alike will love it.

My four year old LOVES it, and it's cute!
Gabby shrinks down to doll-size & plays with all the cats in her cat-doll house. Every episode I've seen includes a problem that needs to be solved & there are cat-puns throughout (you gotta be kitten me!).
This is my toddlers current obsession, and my older kiddo likes it too. Some of the negative reviews are confusing; not everything needs to be teaching math and letters to be educational. One of my favourite things about this show is the use of "yet". Gabby is frequently heard saying "I don't know... yet!" This teaches resilience and to not give up. There is a lot of social-emotional learning going on in this show, and that's great.
The animation is so cute, and I love how all the characters have a unique style. Each episode sticks with one theme, so it's easy for little ones to follow along. The songs are catchy and keep music loving kiddos engaged. My toddler really likes that there is a real cat in the live action sections. Floyd is definitely a favourite.
Overall, this is a show I feel good putting on for my kids.

This show could not be any sweeter. Laila Lockhart Kraner is a fabulous guide into her magical dollhouse. Her bubbly personality is infectious. The mix of real world and cartoon is a unique characteristic in the toddler show genre.
This show is brought to us by Traci Page Johnson, the creator of Blue's Clue's. Those familiar with the original series will be able to feel the similarity between the two. (Bonus! Donovan Patton, a.k.a. Joe, is the voice of Catrat).
This show kept my three toddler boys enraptured from beginning to end. This will definitely stay on our short list of shows to rewatch over and over and over. Catistic!
