Went to check reviews before starting the show and was surprised how low they were! Was expecting a boring dud. I think it's funny and yeah the characters are cringey in a way that makes me laugh because a lot of times it's a super heightened version of a way I too am cringey. I found the girls in Girls cringey and unfortunately relatable and I find Jess to give me that same thing but for a different period of my life - otherwise it feels like a fresh new show that doesn't rly need to be compared to Girls. I don't know if people were expecting something more like Girls but I love a sweet romcom between these archetypes and that's what it's giving me.

I enjoyed season 1 a lot. Season 2 has pretty mixed reviews, I'd be happy with something just ok. But it is COMPLETELY UNWATCHABLE because the main character has the worst fake eyebrow ring I've ever seen. To be fair, I probably haven't seen that many. But this doesn't even remotely look like it goes through her skin. It looks like it is a small metal ring that got caught in her eyebrow hair it's so far off her face. I can deal with - even LOVE for the fun over-dramatics - all the other insane stuff. But for a third of every episode I get physically agitated just wanting someone to tear that stupid thing off of her face. I literally made an account to complain about this stupid eyebrow ring!!! It is THAT BAD and I swear I am a reasonable person lol.
