  • A movie so iconic and good!

I have no doubts when I say that The Karate Kid is one of the best franchises ever released. This movie had a big challenge when it came out: to be as good as its predecessor.

Like the first movie, this one has many iconic scenes that stay in our minds. Another thing I really liked was how well the atmosphere of that time was recreated, and in a completely new place - now Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi go to the birthplace of Karate: Japan. Experiencing another culture is amazing, and it's interesting to see how both of them are thrown into a new adventure, and how Karate can be used to deal with all of it.

As with every Karate Kid movie, this one features a great and memorable villain - Chozen - who I think was even more brutal than Johnny Lawrence, especially because of his facial expressions. Speaking of the cast, we have to mention Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, who are fantastic together. And among the great cast, with many notable names, we can't forget Tamlyn Tomita, who plays Daniel's new love interest - and they're really cute together.

I can say that this movie is great, even if it doesn't quite reach the level of the first one. Still, it's very enjoyable, and seeing how Daniel LaRusso learns new lessons and uses them to overcome new challenges is inspiring - just like every Karate Kid movie.

  • Not about Karate - But a good movie!

There's no doubt that The Karate Kid is one of the best franchises I've seen, and this movie, when it was released, had an important job: to create a new story after so many years without a new film. They did it well, but there's one point that might bother some people: the fact that it's not about Karate, as the title suggests, but about Kung Fu.

Every Karate Kid needs a great master, and Jackie Chan as Mr. Han nailed it. I think he was excellent, although I prefer his character in the 2025 movie, which is more open and friendly. He plays a janitor who carries a deep pain in his heart, but Dre, his apprentice, seems to fill that hole.

Speaking of Jaden Smith, he was fantastic in this movie - truly iconic! His performance was great, and he deserves all the praise. His scenes with Jackie Chan were incredible, and as I said, the friendship between their characters is really touching.

Another actor who deserves to be highlighted is Wang Zhenwei, who plays the villain and manages to annoy every viewer.

The fight scenes are great, and watching the development of a new Karate Kid is very satisfying. As I said, I think the only real issue is the title, along with a few minor problems that could have been improved.

Still, it's a good movie to watch, and it showed us that this universe can explore other martial arts beyond Karate - and do it well.

  • A timeless classic that will always be amazing!

Without a doubt, The Karate Kid became one of the most iconic franchises of all time. It brings joy to both longtime fans and new audiences alike. And everything started with this movie, when a mother and her son moved to a new town, where he would meet a man who would change his life and mindset forever.

Talking about the movie, something I really love in films from that era is the atmosphere of the time-it was such a great period. The cars, the school, and especially the costume party were amazing. These are just a few of the many elements that helped make this film a true classic.

As for the storyline, the friendship between Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi is one of the things I enjoyed the most. Watching LaRusso's development in karate is funny at first, especially when the master gives him strange tasks like washing cars or painting the house. But those tasks turn into valuable lessons for learning karate, which we see as the story progresses-and it's truly inspiring.

Something I really admire is Miyagi's teachings and mindset, both in life and in karate. That becomes crucial when Daniel has to face cruel enemies, led by Kreese and with Johnny as their main fighter. But Daniel faces them without behaving like a Cobra Kai member-he stays true to one of the best things about karate of Mr. Miyagi: its philosophy.

Talking about the cast, Ralph Macchio showed how great he is and will always be remembered as the original-and greatest-Karate Kid. Pat Morita is brilliant as the mentor, and his legacy remains strong to this day. Elisabeth Shue, as Ali Mills, is also great in her role as Daniel's girlfriend-her character is very likeable. Regarding the villains, Martin Kove can easily irritate the audience as the ruthless mentor, especially with how badly he treats his own students. Finally, William Zabka is another iconic name. His last scene is inspiring, when he acknowledges Daniel as the true winner-and what a great final fight it is.

To finish this review: The Karate Kid is a franchise-like Cobra Kai-that never dies. It's a cultural treasure. Thank you to everyone who worked on it!

  • A perfect combination of Karate and Kung Fu that worked incredibly well!

To talk about this movie, we have to start by saying how amazing it was to see Karate and Kung Fu mixed in just the right way, creating a great film with an original story that manages to please both longtime fans and new audiences alike.

I'd also like to briefly share a personal story. Karate has been present in my family for years, and we gathered on Mother's Day to watch this movie, which made it even more special for me. We're big fans of the franchise, and I'm truly grateful for this film, which I consider just as great as its predecessors.

Speaking of the cast, the new Karate Kid, Li Fong, played by Ben Wang, proved to be a perfect casting choice. He's just as good as the previous protagonists. His story starts out similar to Dre's, but as we get to know him better, we see that it's more moving than we expected. The way he tries to move forward through martial arts is truly inspiring.

When we talk about the cast, it's impossible not to mention Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan, who are now tasked with training a new Karate Kid. Seeing them together again made me incredibly happy, and they manage to captivate fans of both the original trilogy and the 2010 movie.

As for Mr. Han, it was amazing to see him again. Honestly, I'd love to learn more about how he became such a great Kung Fu teacher. His relationship with Li Fong is very special, and the story between them adds more depth to the movie than I expected.

Regarding Daniel's return-someone we've seen a lot in Cobra Kai-it's always a joy to see him back. I was genuinely happy, though I did hope he'd have more screen time. Still, seeing him again was wonderful, and especially the scenes where he and Mr. Han team up to train the new Karate Kid-those were so much fun.

About Sadie Stanley, I really liked her character and her relationship with Li Fong. It's sweet, lighthearted, and makes the audience root for them as a couple.

Joshua Jackson, who plays her father, also did a great job. His character is funny and interesting, and his scenes with Li are quite engaging. Speaking of fun characters, Wyatt Oleff's character also stands out, bringing a lot of humor and lightness to the story.

Every Karate Kid movie has had villains that make us really angry, and this one is no different. Connor, played by Aramis Knight, is a very compelling character who gets under our skin, all thanks to Aramis's excellent performance.

Regarding the story and script-it's much deeper than I expected. The way Li Fong overcomes everything is truly inspiring, especially with the help of Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso. On top of that, the fight scenes, as in every Karate Kid movie, are thrilling and incredible. All the professionals involved deserve praise.

So it's no exaggeration to say that this film is just as grand as the previous ones. It brings back nostalgic elements that longtime fans will appreciate, but also introduces fresh originality that can captivate even those who aren't fans of the franchise.

Finally, I'd like to thank everyone involved once again. I sincerely hope there will be future projects that are just as epic as this one. Thank you once again for being part of such a special moment in my life.

  • A movie so enjoyable, with a lot of action!

The highlight of this movie has to be, first of all, the outstanding performances by Viola Davis and Antony Starr. They carried the film with such powerful acting that made it truly shine. Ramón Rodríguez is another name worth mentioning because he also did a great job, and I really liked his character.

As for the screenplay, the idea is great, but I think Antony Starr's motivation could have been developed better. I have to say it wasn't very convincing - not exactly a problem, but definitely not a strong point.

I must admit I'm a bit picky when it comes to action movies, and I have to say I really enjoyed this one. Viola Davis as the President of the United States, who steps up and fights against the villains, was awesome - and she did it so well.

  • So much better and deeper than I expected, and one of Marvel's best productions.

I have to say that this movie was truly incredible and, for me, a great surprise. I confess I wasn't expecting it to be this good, especially considering how many recent Marvel productions had pushed me away from the franchise.

This movie is incredibly well done and much deeper than we could have imagined. Each character carries their own pain, and when they come together, it feels like they complete one another, helping each other face their struggles. This movie talks about mental health, real-life problems, and shows how we can deal with them.

Speaking of the cast, many people criticized the Thunderbolts lineup, but this movie proves them wrong. The cast delivered a fantastic performance, and I'd like to highlight some of them.

We have to acknowledge that Florence Pugh is no longer just a rising star - she's already one of the best actresses working today. After so many strong performances, she once again shows her talent here. Her character is deeply complex and emotionally layered, and she portrays it brilliantly.

Sebastian Stan shines once again as Bucky. I really enjoyed his character, although I must say he didn't have as much screen time as I expected. Still, considering the screenplay, I don't see that as a real problem. As for Hannah John-Kamen's character, I admit I didn't think she was that relevant to the MCU before, but in this movie, she truly impressed me. I really liked her character. Unfortunately, it felt like the writers didn't want to explore her arc further or remind us of her pain, unlike what they did with the others.

Wyatt Russell as U. S. Agent was fantastic - he's one of my favorite characters in the group. His character also carries personal conflicts that add depth, while still being a great source of comic relief. David Harbour also brought a lot of humor to the film and made me laugh several times - he really showed how great he is.

The same goes for Sentry, played by Lewis Pullman. He's a deep character too, but also funny. I loved his development and how the Thunderbolts helped him grow and deal with his inner struggles. I'm really excited to see more of him in future productions - and I can say the same about the rest of the characters.

Now, regarding the movie itself, the only thing that really bothered me was how disconnected Marvel productions still are. The issue presented in this movie is massive, and other heroes should've shown up - even if the Avengers are disbanded. It's strange that Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, and other NYC-based heroes weren't even mentioned. Honestly, this is more of a Marvel-wide issue than a flaw in this specific movie.

And I have to admit I felt a bit strange when I read spoilers about the group's new name before watching the movie. But considering Valentina Fontaine's political arc, it makes sense - and I'm very excited to see where that goes. I also have to say I found it a bit odd that Bucky agreed to be part of the group, especially considering his efforts to bring Valentina down. I think the movie should've emphasized his intentions more clearly.

Still, I can say I really enjoyed this film, and I'm very excited to see more from these characters. I have to congratulate everyone involved - this is one of the best Marvel productions in recent years and has brought back many fans who had drifted away, like me.

  • The series had great potential, but loses it by the end

First of all, I have to say that as a Brazilian, I watched this series because of Wagner Moura. And I can say that I enjoyed it, especially the first episode, which showed us that the series had strong potential for the following episodes. However, after watching it until the end, I can say that unfortunately, it started to have some problems in its development, especially from the middle to the end, and the series seemed to change a lot in many aspects.

Talking about the cast, I have to say that Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura, as the main characters, were excellent. I really enjoyed their performances, and it was amazing to see the two of them together doing such a great job. They truly made us feel the pain of their characters and how difficult the situations were that their characters got themselves into, and mainly how was strong their relationship.

As I mentioned, this series had great potential. It had exciting action scenes, moments that were both funny and scary at times - it was really good. But by the end, you can clearly see how much it changed and lost some of its quality. You notice that when a character who was being hunted by the police suddenly starts helping them, and in the way Wagner Moura's character's fate was written - which I felt was not well developed.

Still, it can be a good option to watch, as long as you're aware that the series has some issues with the screenplay and its development, and that it loses some of its magic over time.

  • A weak story and very exaggerated action scenes.

To talk about this movie, I have to be honest, and my points are more negative than positive. This movie has a bad and confusing screenplay and storyline, with no clear purpose. It seems to be more focused on giving us a lot of exaggerated action scenes that didn't catch my attention. The fact that this movie doesn't have a really good storyline made it hard to enjoy.

One thing I can say that isn't bad is that I liked some action scenes that weren't so exaggerated, but unfortunately, the good acting in parts of the movie became overshadowed by those exaggerated scenes. Even though I didn't enjoy these parts, I can say that they were well produced.

So, this movie is a good option if you are looking for one with a lot of bullets and an empty, unclear storyline.

  • A good movie that lost its quality midway

Before everything, we have to say that this movie is very important because it is about a Saint of the Catholic Church and a historical figure who inspires a lot of people to this day. Milla Jovovich did a great job in this movie, and her performance was really impressive and surprising, and I really enjoyed it, even though the screenplay affected the development of her character.

One negative point I have to mention about this movie is that, unfortunately, the screenplay led the movie and the main character to an incorrect place. As I mentioned, she is a Saint, and at one point in the movie, I felt that it was making us believe that she was crazy, ignoring her faith and her great deeds.

The movie is great, and the action scenes and Joan's story are really amazing and inspiring. As I said, the major problem of the movie is the direction it tries to take us in, which I felt was really wrong and, for me, made the movie less rewarding to watch, ruining what was becoming a beautiful work.

  • A touching and emotional movie.

We wouldn't be exaggerating to call this a classic film, shown every Easter to many faithful viewers. It's a movie that reminds us of God's sacrifice and His love for us.

Mel Gibson did a really great job, successfully leaving everyone in shock, especially by showing how much Jesus suffered and bled for us. We can truly feel the pain through those scenes. I have to say that I've watched many movies and series with a lot of violence, but some scenes in this film were hard to watch - I even looked away at times.

Jim Caviezel was excellent as the King of Kings. As I mentioned, I could sometimes feel a glimpse of Jesus's pain, and it was very difficult to watch. Jim did a great job in making us feel some of that suffering. Watching it and feeling this pain makes our love for Him grow even stronger.

The movie is powerful and has become a reference point for the story of Jesus, and I'm so glad I watched it. However, I believe the screenplay could have been better - I missed seeing more of His miracles and stories before the Passion, especially after watching other productions that included them.

So we can say that this movie is truly great. Even though it can be hard to watch - because no one wants to see someone they love suffering - it also makes our love for Him grow. I'm so grateful for His mercy and for the fact that He saved us. This movie is a strong recommendation and an important one for anyone who wants to understand more about God and how we must honor His sacrifice.

  • It wasn't better than the first movie, but it's still funny!

One thing I can say about Vacation Friends is that it's so funny it made me laugh a lot. In my opinion, this franchise brings out the best elements of comedy movies, something I really miss in today's films of this genre.

One of the main point of the movie is the cast, that is so great and on this movie the group of friends is back and makes us laugh a lot, but to be honest, I think the first movie was better. However, it's fair to say that this movie keeps its essence and still made us laugh a lot - and as a film of this genre, it doesn't need a deep backstory. It simply focuses on making you laugh, making it a great choice to sit back and enjoy!

  • A good option to enjoy and laugh.

One thing I can say about this movie is that I laughed a lot! Even though it's not the best comedy movie ever, it still made me laugh so much. The dynamic between James Franco's and Bryan Cranston's characters is hilarious and definitely the highlight of the film - something that anyone watching can enjoy.

Even though it's a comedy, I found some deeper moments in the movie, especially regarding the relationship between a father and his daughter. In the end, she understands what she truly wants, and listened to her father - who wanted the best for his daughter.

Something I didn't like was how many indecent scenes there were, and how almost every conversation ended up revolving around inappropriate topics - something I didn't find very enjoyable.

On the other hand, something I want to highlight is how surprised I was by the special appearances, including Elon Musk and the band KISS.

Overall, it's a fun and enjoyable movie. It captures the essence of classic comedy films - making it a great option if you're looking to laugh a lot.

  • A good series - but it could be better.

How great it is to see the original cast of the series back, including Charlie Cox, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Wilson Bethel, and Ayelet Zurer. One thing I want to highlight is that Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk had already appeared in other recent Marvel series, but they had lost the essence of their characters. This series brings that essence back, and as a fan of the Netflix version, I'm truly grateful - even though their characters were heavily affected by their appearances in other shows.

Before I continue my review, I need to mention that this series was released after many Marvel productions that lost their potential, so its release feels important. I hope it sends a message to everyone in the company - and to the entire film industry.

Continuing the review, it's really hard not to compare this Marvel series to the Netflix one. One thing I liked in this version was the fight scenes - they feel more epic and continue to be brutal. However, I still prefer the old series because the fights there felt more natural and realistic. Despite my preference, I enjoyed the action scenes in this series too - they're not bad at all. But one thing that bothered me a bit was that many of the best fight scenes take place in the dark or in smoke, which can make it harder for the audience to follow what's happening.

As for the screenplay, I felt it was very slow and lacked a clear purpose until the last two episodes. That lack of direction can especially be seen in the Muse arc - he's a great villain, but in my opinion, he was underused. Another thing I really disliked was how long it took to explain the lack of connection between the old and new series. Even by the final episodes, there was no clear explanation of why Poindexter did what he did at the beginning of the series, or how Fisk is free and has become the mayor, after being accused of killing Agent Nadeem in season three.

Despite the short number of episodes, I liked the arc involving the corrupt cops and I'm interested to see how they'll be dealt with in the second season. Still, it felt strange not to see other major heroes involved in such an important storyline - especially Spider-Man.

An honorable mention goes to Hector Ayala, portrayed by Kamar de los Reyes, who sadly passed away. Even though his screen time was limited, his presence was powerful and meaningful to the story. I really liked his character and wanted to see more of him. I especially enjoyed the courtroom scenes and his relationship with Matt, as well as his motivations. Overall, even with short time, he made a big impact, and as fans, we should honor him. May he rest in peace.

So, this series is great, but compared to the original, it still has some areas that could be improved - though I'm not sure if those issues were caused by the reshoots. Still, it's a good series to watch, and I'm definitely looking forward to the second season.

  • A movie that gave me a good nostalgic feeling!

First of all, I have to say that I'm writing this review as someone who watched the movie and is also a huge fan of the game. When I first heard about this movie, I had so many ideas in mind, and none of them involved real-life actors. When the cast was confirmed and the trailer was released, I thought it wouldn't be great and that it wouldn't delight fans like me. But after watching the movie, I realized I was completely wrong. I had such special and beautiful feelings while watching it, and I remembered so many good memories from when I used to play the game. Without a doubt, this is the game I spent the most time playing. It was part of my childhood, filled with great moments shared with friends and family.

Talking about the movie itself - as I said, I didn't expect much, but in the end, it really surprised me. This film is perfect for kids and fans, and even people who never played the game or hadn't even heard of it might find it a bit different, but still enjoyable. It's funny, a bit silly, but charming. The story is simple but well done, and that was enough for me to really like it.

Now about the cast - when I saw the trailer, I have to admit I didn't like the casting, especially Jack Black. But again, I was wrong. Each character has their own backstory, which sometimes goes deeper than expected, but always with the light-heartedness that a Minecraft movie deserves.

Talking about Steve, I loved her relationship with Dennis, the wolf, and how he built so many things in the Minecraft world. About Jack Black - he's always really funny, and this movie was no different, even if sometimes his jokes were a bit cringy. The same goes for Jason Momoa's character - although I felt a bit of second-hand embarrassment at times, I still enjoyed his relationship with Henry and his character's story. Emma Myers was amazing. Her character had a deeper background, and she did a fantastic job. I have to say, though, it felt a little weird seeing her driving - because she looks like a kid! Danielle Brooks made me laugh a lot and was really funny, just like Jennifer Coolidge and the Villager did. They were a strange couple, but it worked, and I laughed so much watching them. I really hope to see them again in the sequel, and the whole cast too! Now, talking about Sebastian Eugene Hansen - he really looks like a true Minecraft player, and I liked his character a lot. I especially loved his idea to honor Technoblade in the movie - it definitely got all of us emotional. Just like the moment when he watched the movie with Kevin, a fan of the game who was sadly very ill. So, we can say that Sebastian Eugene Hansen is a great young man, and I truly hope he has an amazing career. This movie is one of the great ones he's been a part of -and surely, there are many more to come.

One more thing I really loved was hearing the songs and music from the game - especially at the beginning of the movie. It made me emotional because it brought back so many memories of playing the game as a kid. That time in my life was so good - and now, as an adult watching this movie, I had a feeling that only those who played the game can truly understand.

To finish my review, I just want to congratulate everyone who worked on this movie. As a fan of the game, I can say that I'm satisfied and truly thankful for this experience. I'm really excited for the sequel!

  • Very funny and enjoyable!

Something I really liked is that I've been missing great comedy movies-and this one brings back that essence I've missed so much.

Surprisingly, John Cena has become one of my favorite comedy actors, and he's hilarious in this movie. Together with Lil Rel Howery - another great comedy actor - they make an awesome duo. Add Yvonne Orji and Meredith Hagner to the cast, and you've got a great team that delivers a fun and entertaining film.

If you're looking for a good laugh, you'll definitely find it here. In a time when comedy movies aren't as great as they used to be, this one stands out as a solid option to enjoy. The story is simple, and it doesn't need to be complex - just like the best classic comedies.

  • One of the best hero series out there - maybe the best!

Starting this review, I have to confess something: it's really strange to realize that this series was released ten years ago. Watching it now, it's clear that many aspects - like the cinematography and the screenplay - are still better than a lot of current shows.

Talking about season one, I'd say it was reasonable. Some episodes felt a bit boring at times, but overall, it was a solid first season. One thing I have to highlight is the fight scenes - they were really cool and captivating, something that continued throughout the next seasons.

Now, about the second season: it was brutal. The parts involving Frank Castle were intense, and I really enjoyed them. His presence became my favorite part of the season, especially the fight scenes and his relationship with Karen. On the other hand, the storyline involving Matt and Elektra was the weakest part for me, although it did get better toward the end. Still, it was a good season - better than the first - but there were definitely things that could have been improved.

As for the third and final season, it turned out even better than I expected - and became my favorite! Seeing how Wilson Fisk had control of everything gave me the feeling that there was no way out of the situation - except killing him, which was a possibility Matt actually considered for the first time. Another great storyline was watching Poindexter descend into madness - what a great and complex character! We also had the story of Ray Nadeem, an FBI agent who ended up involved in shady stuff, even though he didn't want to, and had to find a way to fix things.

Now talking about the cast: the choices were excellent. Honestly, it's hard to highlight only a few actors, because so many delivered amazing performances. But I'll try, starting with Charlie Cox - a perfect choice for a character with such a big fanbase. He did a fantastic job, whether wearing the mask or not. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson were also great, and together with Charlie, they formed an incredible trio with lots of standout moments.

Another actor I must highlight is Vincent D'Onofrio - it's hard to imagine anyone else playing his character. He managed to convey every emotion so well, showing us that Kingpin is more than just a villain - he has a breaking point, and we got to see that. His performance was outstanding.

Then we have Jon Bernthal, who truly became The Punisher. He brought not only brutality but also deep emotion to the character, showing that he's more than just a killer. He was the best part of season two for me, especially in his fight scenes and his relationship with Karen. Even though he had his own series, I really wish he had appeared in season three - but that's okay.

Wilson Bethel also delivered an amazing performance. Watching Poindexter's development - from a focused agent to someone who lost control and started doing whatever he wanted - was both disturbing and fascinating.

For me, season three stands out because of the writing, the action scenes, and how everything came together. It had the best performances from Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Wilson Bethel. The final episode was fantastic! And I also want to highlight Jay Ali, who played Ray Nadeem - not a superhero, but a well-developed and surprising character. I didn't expect to like him as much as I did.

To wrap up this review: this series is timeless. It's better than many current superhero movies and shows, and there are plenty of reasons to justify that. So I don't think it's unfair to say it's one of the best superhero series - maybe even the best. They truly did a great job, and I hope this show inspires future productions.

  • A series that's not deep, but it's really brutal!

When we talk about Reacher, we have to mention how good of an actor Alan Ritchson is - he's so badass in this series! I have to say, I miss characters like Reacher in some action movies and series - characters that actually make us feel something while watching and enjoy so much the actions scenes. That's one of the things I really liked about this series.

At the start of every season, we notice that all the characters are new, except for Reacher and Maria Sten's character. Because of that, I really think it holds the series back from becoming deeper, which I see as a problem - the storylines are forgettable, and they could be much better.

Still, this series is good. It has a few things that could be improved, but overall it's enjoyable - just know that the stories and some characters are a quite shallow.

  • A reasonable and non-innovative movie.

Something I really enjoy in movies is when they make it seem like there's no possible resolution to a situation, but then the plot surprises us with an impressive solution, which excites the audience. This movie is no different and does this multiple times.

Talking about the cast, we have to mention Idris Elba, who shines in the movie and does a great job. Despite having a good plot and a great cast, this movie doesn't innovate much compared to many others in the genre-except now, with a lion. I really think it could have been deeper; however, it's still a good option to watch, just don't expect too much.

  • A great couple in an insane movie!

Starting this review, I have to say how incredible this movie was. It can captivate anyone looking for a film filled with emotions.

Talking about the cast, we have to highlight Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, who made a great couple. Their characters had a really strong backstory, each carrying their own pain, and it's amazing how much chemistry they had when they met. It was so well done that it made the audience root for them to end up together.

Now, about the screenplay, it was incredible how we, the audience, were drawn into this story, which has a lot of surprises and is much deeper than we might have thought at the beginning of the movie. This well-crafted plot is evident in both the love scenes and the action scenes, which were even better than I expected.

To conclude this review, if you're looking for a great movie with exciting action scenes but also a touch of romance to keep you engaged in the story, this movie is a great choice!

  • Not a very good movie, but it has some interesting points.

Talking about this movie, I'll start by discussing the cast, which is great and is highlighted by Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin, despite the fact that their characters are not so interesting.

Unfortunately, the good cast is not enough for the movie to be good, and in this case, it's a reasonable movie with a slow and not so interesting plot that didn't show us in an adequate way how the monster came into the world.

The movie has some action scenes, mainly suspense, and they're good, but from my perspective, it would have been better if the movie had been deeper and better explained the motivations and origins.

However, it can be a good movie to watch if you want a film with some good action or suspense scenes, but with not so good development and a story that isn't as deep as it could have been with a better plot.

  • It could have been so good, but it doesn't have a strong purpose.

First of all, I have to say that something I thought was really cool was the cinematography of the film and how the scenes on the ship and the sets were filmed. But unfortunately, this movie has other aspects that made me give it a lower rating.

The potential of Cauã Reymond's performance wasn't well explored. He's not bad, but he could have been so much better. The screenplay seemed to limit his character. The movie seems more focused on portraying Pedro's love affairs and some indecent scenes that added nothing, almost like an attempt to degrade a historical figure. The weak screenplay is noticeable in the ending, showing that the movie lacks a clear purpose.

However, one scene I really liked was when Pedro was talking with a slave. It was interesting to see two people from different realities discussing, and how Pedro listened to the pain of that man.

To conclude my review, this movie could have been better if the screenplay had been stronger. However, I must say that the production was good and surprising.
