- Entrepreneur John Hambone has brought the ancient extinct picklesaurs back to life on his tropical island. Vulassic Park is almost ready for an eager public to visit and for Hambone to make a fortune, but the park needs the approval of some experts first, including picklentologists Dr. Gallon Grunt and Dr. Bellie Tattler. Things go horribly awry on the park's tour however and soon the island is in chaos with with picklesaurs escaping their pens: the Velocigherkins, Dillophosaurus, and the might Tyrannosaurus Dill. Will the heroes escape the terror of the island (and a lawsuit from Steven Spielberg)? Find out when you journey back to a time when pickles ruled the earth!
- The story revolves around 14-year-old Jeremy, a shy boy who writes poetry and songs for his bullyish brother Shane and his band, but receives no credit or money for his efforts. The band is hired to perform at a local cafe for a substantial amount of money (unbeknownst to Jeremy) and it is there that the boy befriends the cafe owner, Jack Lucas, who also claims to be quite a poet. Jeremy feels comfortable at the cafe and Jack soon becomes a father figure, since the boy lost his father to a suspicious automobile accident when he was little. Soon the band moves on to bigger, better deals thanks to Jack's "connections," and Jeremy continues to hang out at the cafe, especially attending the weekly poetry readings. Jack invites the boy to attend a secret poetry group of his that meets at night in the woods around a campfire, and it is there that he informs Jeremy that "words have power...and must be used with caution." Later, when Shane is found mysteriously murdered, Jeremy blames himself because of a poem he wrote about his brother wishing him dead. Jeremy is slowly driven to madness with frightening recurring nightmares of power and death, and he also discovers secrets connecting Jack to his past...and the death of his father. At the end he confronts Jack and discovers that they both, together, play a very major role in the end of the world, and Jeremy is forced to make the most important choice of his life...for himself and the entire planet.
- Two rebel brother, Drake and Daniel, disguise themselves as Union soldiers in order to deliver a secret letter to a turncoat Union officer named Hatcher. When Drake gets injured, young Daniel is forced to deliver the message alone. But the mission goes awry and Daniel must flee camp with a meek northern photographer Benjamin, who has been framed for a murder he didn't commit. Unaware that they are being pursued by Hatcher, who has plans of his own for the letter, they embark upon an incredible journey that will test their courage, friendship, their views on war, and their very lives.
- It is the future. A boy named Karson is a dreamer who cannot learn fractions, and therefore is an outcast when compared to everyone else who is focused and able to multi-task information at exponential rates. He is dunked into a "think tank" where he is attached to software which will help him focus and learn fractions. Since the program draws off the individual's thoughts as well, Karson finds himself in a surreal 1950's style world where he feels alone and pressured, much like how he feels the world he is currently in. His only hope is to cross the river and reach the old Studebaker factory and live a calm life like "the old ways" he envisions, instead of following the people of the future into a mixture of conformity and chaos.
