Stefanie Stappenbeck''s first real kiss in life took place in front of the camera during the filming of this movie. The actress, who was 15 during filming, in 2024 recalled her nude love scene with Cornelius Schulz. "Fortunately, I had a bit of a crush on my colleague," she said. "And the cameras were a bit away from us because we were shooting with a telephoto lens - so I was able to play it without any problems." The scene was shot twice, Stappenbeck recalled. However, the director used the first shot for the film "so that I could keep it as a memory of my first kiss".
Filmed in the summer of 1989, a few months before the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is not only one of the few DEFA films that deal with environmental protection, but also shows an unusually harsh criticism of the socialist system.
The track "Langeweile" by the group 'Pankow' was played by members of the Berlin band 'The Inchtabokatables', who called themselves 'The Breads' for the film.
