The moment I saw this I was totally amazed and I was brought back in time. Seeing the old footage of Stampede days was awesome. I remember watching those and seeing then again brought back some good times. That's probably the best video that WWE has put out. The way that the whole thing was put together was nice and like other stars who do there videos, this one just didn't seem to revolve around Bret, but the Hart family and the wrestling industry as a whole. I didn't know what to expect when I watched it but I'm glad I bought it. This is a must have for any wrestling fan who has seen, heard about or anything regarding Bret Hart. This is the best.
Bret The Hit-man Hart is the greatest WWF (WWE) champion of all time and it is nice to see him get the treatment he deserves on this DVD. For those of us who idolized Bret throughout his career and struggled through the latter difficulties, this is a wonderful celebration of a truly legendary wrestler.
The DVD focuses greatly upon Bret's earlier experience before the WWF and with the Hart Foundation. It is a pleasure to watch him develop in these early matches and see their influence on his prime years, which are well documented here as well.
Some of the highlights of this DVD include Bret and Dynamite Kid going at it in Stampede Wrestling, Bret v. Ricky Steamboat, Bret v. Mr. Perfect for the IC title, Bret v. the British Bulldog at Wembley Stadium, and Bret v. Stone Cold at Wrestlemania 13.
As is expected, not everything is here including the Iron Man Match with Shawn Michaels from Wrestlemania 12, the classic cage match with Owen, and Bret's first title win against Flair. Such absences will disappoint some. However, the matches chosen will surely satisfy even the most critical Hit-man fan.
The greatest highlight of the DVD is the comments Hart makes throughout. It is a pleasure to hear his opinions on matches and stories from his life in wrestling, especially those about Owen.
Throughout his career, the Hit-man character excelled with pristine in-ring technique and a quiet, humble confidence that reached the everyman in all of us. He didn't have to yell or dance, he was simply that cool.
This DVD is a true representation of the heroism we used to be fortunate enough to enjoy on a weekly basis. Thus, it is a must for anyone who wants to see wrestling at the best it is, was, or ever will be.

I personally found The Bret Hart Story the best piece of work ever produced by World Wrestling Entertainment. The documentary shows Hart from his early days of learning about professional wrestling his father's " Dungeon " to his reigns a WWF World Heavyweight Champion to the dramatic downfall at Survivor Series 1997. Hart also tells the emotional story of his brother Owen's tragic death. The extras on the DVD really help make the documentary with some of The Hit-man's greatest matches with Shawn Michaels, Owen Hart, and Mr. Perfect along with a tribute match to his brother on WCW Monday Nitro. The documentary is truly exciting, emotional, and entertaining.
I'm not as big of a wrestling fan now as I was when I was younger. Even then, I was never a huge Bret Hart fan. But this is one of my favorite DVD's to watch. The story was great, it tells everything from growing up in the Hart household right up to his stroke. I can't wait for his autobiography to come out.
When I saw the picture of Vince McMahon shaking hands with Bret Hart, immediately, I thought "Hell froze over." It was something I never expected to see in my life. Bret Hart was never my favorite wrestler growing up, I was into wrestlers such as the Undertaker and the Rock. But I must say, I am a Bret Hart fan now, as well as a Kurt Angle fan. I have so much respect for the technical wrestlers.
What made Bret so great was that he didn't need a gimmick. He was OK with being himself, and not a cowboy (Watch the DVD for more on that). It's sad because wrestling isn't what it use to be. When I watched it when I was younger, back in the late 90's, it was still cool. But now, there aren't any original ideas. You know that when they bring back D-X, you got trouble. And why is Ric Flair still wrestling? It seems that wrestling is on the decline. It's hard for me to watch wrestling, because it's the same thing week after week. It needs something different. Maybe Bret as commissioner? I'll say this though, if Bret ever does come back, for good, I will watch. When his autobiography comes out, I'll buy it.

This three disc set is a Bret Hart fan's dream. It captures the best matches of Bret's career and shows Bret's meteoric rise to the top. Bret starts out with being one-half of the Hart Foundation(along with Jim Neidhart) and eventually becomes a single competition wrestler. The discs contains some great interviews and a tribute to fallen comrades where Bret shows how emotional he can get. The matches included(about 16) are all complete and this set would be worth your time and money to purchase. All of his interviews show his honesty and integrity. This DVD set will show anyone(fan or not) why Bret Hart truly is the best there is, the best there was, and the best that there ever will be.
