Ha, You guys just don't have a sense of humor.

Let's put it this way - the sound effects alone made me laugh, like when they play a scream every time the goth chick shows up, or the swayed sound whenever the burnt-out blond surf dude says something. I don't know there's something I just like about this movie, like it's actually a meta flick somehow, like the director is just making fun of people who make fun of this movie. It's not really a comedy at all, it's a meta comedy. And I love it.

"Larry, you should be spanking the monkey, not dreaming about it". Come on, that's hilarious. Tacky but fun. You have to watch thousands of tacky American comedies to find one gold nugget like this that is actually funny no matter what the haters say.

I was invited to see the movie "Surf School" at it's worldwide premiere. The movie was great! I'll tell you why..

I got a chance to meet Harland Williams. I knew who he was before, but the character he played in this movie is priceless. Now, I don't want to say he makes the entire movie, but he sure does make for some deep belly laughs. I don't care what anyone says.. bathroom humor will ALWAYS be hilarious!

One of my other favorites in the movie is a character played by Miko Hughes.. Taz! He cracks me up throughout the movie as well. Besides comedy, this movie seems to have it all. It's got a cool, low-key love story tied into it as well as a discreet and brief look into society's issues. But nothing like history class! It has all the characters typical of any normal high school. The casting director did well finding perfect matches. Besides the perfect mis-fit fits, he picked himself a gorgeous cast.

I also enjoyed Corey Sevier's performance in the movie. You see the many facets of his character as he portrayed them very well. Typical jock, yes. Hot? Check. But a total sweetheart. I think one of my favorite points in the movie, as far as Corey is concerned, was his "Braveheart" speech.

It's an all around funny movie. It's sexy and goofy and creative. I heard it's coming to theaters this summer. You'll get some good laughs and leave feeling satisfied.

This movie is funnier than American Pie. American Pie is one of the funniest teen movies ever and this is better. I can't wait until it comes out in the theaters so I can take the kids....they will love it. I was lucky enough to be asked to screen this movie in Los Angeles and although I had to drive a few hours,in traffic,by myself,it was well worth it. Harland Williams as "Rip" is his usual funny self. Diane Delano and Taylor Negron are hilarious as the old hippies and the always beautiful Aubrie Lemon is....beautiful. I actually got to talk to Miko Hughes and Cory Sevier and they wonderful,very respectful young men. Director Joel Silverman did a fantastic job also. As an old guy I was also touched that the director invited about 10 or 12 United States Marines (injured in the Iraq war)to the screening. When he introduced them the crowd gave them a standing ovation. It was just a stomach splitting comedy followed by a wonderful gathering afterwords.

OK i guess most of the clowns who post here are movie snobs who can't just enjoy some silly humor. This movie probably made me laugh out loud 10 times which is more than most movies do. The surf bum from Half-Baked is freaking hilarious. When he talks about stacking onion rings on his shaft i lost it. The girls are hot as hell and there's some decent waves. I bought this and probably watch once a month and it really grows on you. It may not really be a 10 compared to the great movies but for this kind of movie it's a 10. Relax and just enjoy it for what it is which is silly fun. the topless stuff is pretty damn cool since the chicks are natural and hot.

OK, I wasn't expecting much when I saw this with my boyfriend. He surfs and wanted to see the hot chicks on the poster. I actually found it to be a funny and sweet movie, and the guys were as hot as the girls, especially the main guy. He has a body FROM GOD!!! The whole hippie theme was different and the old hippie couple were LOL! The love story was actually really cool in the midst of the jokes. Oh, the gay surf announcer is hilarious, especially in his spandex outfits. Surf School's a lot better than a lot of the teen comedies I've seen. I laughed loud at least a half dozen times, and I can't believe it choked me up too. This movie really surprised me. It's actually good.

This movie had the crowd in continuous laughter. My father at the age of 73 has not been to a movie since Tombstone on Christmas day back about 1994. My dad absolutely loved this movie as much as the young crowd did. It is hilariously funny,witty and is the funniest movie (along with CLICK) of the summer. If you want entertainment this is it. This movie blows away some of the big studio films such as SYRIANA,BABEL,HUDSON HAWK and JUDGE DREDD just to name a few. You have 3 very beautiful women as the 3 Swedes (including Aubree Lemon from Deal or No Deal).Taylor Negron is very funny as the Russian. Diane Delano gives her usual better than most performance. The scenery is great.

There is no doubt that this film was not intended to be an Oscar winner, but for what it is, i think the film was a success. We all know going into the film that it's a farce comedy meant to take you out of the real world and make you laugh, and that's exactly what the film did for me. I throughly enjoyed clicking my brain off for the duration of the film and simply relaxing and enjoying the humor. Harland was great as always. Also, considering that I myself am a something less than proficient surfer who nonetheless tries real hard and truly enjoys the sport for what it is (even though more often than not i'm falling off of my board), i think it was great and fun to watch the underdogs do the same. When you're out there on the ocean it's hard not to take the guff it gives you and get back out on the board, so watching anything surf related is rewarding when you can relate to it and laugh at it all the same.

If you're looking for some relaxation and laughs, I recommend this movie!

A group of highschoolers head off to learn how to surf because the leader wants to win the heart of a girl who only has eyes for surfer champs. They answer the ad of a surf instructor only to find that photoshop makes a junk pile look like a paradise. You are left not knowing which has more beer cans, the lawn or the surf instructor.

As another commenter said, this is not a 1. It is a great comedy, carried by Harland Williams as the washed up surfer dude/instructor. The mysterious woman is an excellent payoff.

Admittedly, you have to check your brain at the door before watching it. If you are in that kind of mood, you will enjoy it.

The women are gorgeous. The comedy is deadpan. The music is radical. The acting leaves everything to be desired. Think of it as a modern version of Beach Blanket Bingo.

About a month after seeing this, I saw Harlan in person at the DC Improv. I asked him why he didn't list it in his credits on the Play Bill. His response, "You actually saw that piece of sh*t?"

There are a lot of haters out there on this one. I surf and rented it with a buddy. We laughed our asses off. The guy from Half-Baked was off the hook. The Swedish girls were amazing and NATURAL. Definitely needed more boob shots. Some of the surf stuff was great, but it didn't have enough surfing. And it was a surf contest but I really only saw two or three teams. But it doesn't seem like the people who made it tried to be too real. I think it's probably supposed to be silly and fun. Costa Rica looked amazing. Gotta go. This movie's not a 1. That's stupid. I just think the humor is for teens or if you're in your 20s. The older hippies were gross but funny. I liked the vibe of the movie. It was just real chill. I already watched it twice.

I know Lee Norris in the movie. We met because he shoots One Tree Hill in N.C. where I go to school. He is so sweet and cute. I watched the movie for him and didn't really like his part as the virgin nerd, but the guys in this film are sooooooooo hot!!!! The main guy has probably the best body I've ever seen. And the guy from Desperate Housewives is gorgeous. But the guy I liked most is the young surfer burnout with the long blonde hair. Oh-my-God! Hot. As a movie I'd give it a 7 because it had some really funny moments and the main guy had some sweet scenes with the goth girl. I give it a 9 because the guys in bathing suits were pretty perfect. I show my girlfriends scenes from it all the time.

okay, this movie was awesome, i mean hot chicks, nice waves, and hot chicks. what else could you ask for. like i said above see it over and over till your DVD doesn't play anymore, then but another one and watch it over and over. 10 out of 10!ive told my friends and even got them to love this movie. excellent direction and production. I'm trying to type as fast as i can so i can pop it in the old DVD player and watch it again right now!

be sure to bring your snacks into the room and go to the bathroom before you start watching so you don't miss anything. and for those who didn't like the film... (expletive) you're dumb and have no sense of taste. big thanks to j for recommending it!

Ordered the movie and finally got it and watched it with 3 mates. we laughed our arses off and the girls were hot, hot, hot. The 3 Swedish girls killed us. The surf bum was lunatic and we saw him in Rocketman. He said some things that were so funny we replayed the parts as soon as they were over. The speech he does on when he glued some blokes package to a fish was genius. Then when he talks some crazy language at the end is hilarious. The funniest was when he's telling the sotry of the ghost girl he was in love with. Also the monkey spanking was good stuff. The girl who played the Spanish maid was so killer sexy. But I thought the surf bum made the movie. I'd say it's a 8 out of 10.

This movie was given a bad rating from Davidb36 from South Africa.He claimed to have rented the movie in February of 2007.The movie was not available for rent until July of 2007.Draw your own conclusion afterall,he is from the same country that elected a convicted felon after 26 years in prison as President.He is obviously lying and trying to get his friends to give low scores.He himself has had people he knows give this movie a 1. This I know because one of them actually wrote me and told me who he is and what his agenda is. He has a problem with someone involved in the making of this movie. I do not personally know you DavidB36 but you could at least be honest with yourself when lying to others.If all of the 1 scores and 10 scores were removed this movie would get about a 6 average. It is certainly better than Babel,Judge Dredd,Hudson Hawk,Syriana and Epic Movie just to name a few.This movie was picked as the 2nd funniest movie of 2006 by the ADW and 3rd by the CS association. It is definitely funny,go see it.

when it just feels good to watch a movie not so full of stuff about guns and death it was a thrill to watch. it was so much fun i love the lead actor and when he does the mel Gibson thing woo tell me more how can it be only one when is part 2 coming out what happen to the monkey its just somethings i got to know in my life where is the monkey man he was so cool and and his monkey girlfriend i think that when u find real love in your heart the sun never sets and you can dream of the great moments life will give us and when i started to want more they gave me more breast yes breast i love them and those girls was blessed and thats from god he likes beauty and laughter and thats surf school

The script may not be as great as you want it to be but definitely made me laugh and in my opinion that's what counts most.

I don't really mind what people may think of this movie but if you want something that would take your mind off your worries even for a little while then this movie is it.

It may not be as mind-blowing as some of the sexy comedies out there but it will definitely make its mark.

I simply love its simplicity, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand it. You'll simply laugh and that's the main thing. A must see.

When I saw Surf School I didn't know what to expect and came out of it humming the catchy "Surf School" song and laughing about a bunch of the hilarious moments in this movie. I really enjoyed the multiple different characters in this movie. They each had unique traits from the flamboyant, colorful surf announcer who wears the shortest shorts and this hilarious belly baring shirt to Boris and Tilly, the couple on the island who take a liking to the "good" kids from Laguna Beach. They host sing- a-longs and are constantly displaying their affection by acting like two horny teenagers in love. This movie is also awesome due to the Humorous tangents Harland William's character goes off on with no shame throughout the entire movie. He truly makes the film. And don't forget about the hot hard body of the lead, Corey Sevier, who plays Jordan the nice boy from Laguna Beach who is a piece of eye candy on screen.

I'm from Austin but live in Costa Rica in the town Quepos next to where the movie was made. My friend Timo was in the background of one scene. I brought a copy back from the States and like 20 of us packed into a room to see it the first time. We laughed so hard we almost cried. the guy from Half Baked is like this surf kook we know here. Just a crazy ass guy. The girls were sooooooooo fly. We saw some of the blonde girls when they were in town making the movie and we got to see them topless in the movie. Way coool. They showed a few hot waves from an area here called Playitas. I surf there all the time. Movie's a trip and I laugh just thinking about some of the stuff the surf bum says.

It has a monkey dressed up as a girl who is in love with a nerd what else can you want from a movie. But wait there is more it also has a washed up surfer who is always drunk and had a girlfriend who is a ghost for 10 years. There are also 3 hot Swedish girls who enjoy doing yoga nude and play twister. There is also a horny couple stuck in the 60's and 70's who do things that you really don't want to see your parents doing. Lastly who doesn't love a good storyline, this didn't have one but was very funny anyways. We also have the sad story of a lovable young man named larry who is a virgin due to his mother telling him that women are evil. But larry and the monkey share a special moment.
