Everything is just so cliché and it's all been done before and much better. There's a few token girls, the main character is a big eater, he gets a rival, etc. The side characters were especially forgettable. An ancient evil being awakened has been done a lot of times before too. I've never watched the anime, so I guess I can't judge it that well. I would still take 'Yu-Gi-Oh" over this, the anime not the movie, that was even worse than this. *1/2
There is little plot to entertain the viewer. The 'monsters' are trapped in the spinning tops and are freed somehow. Those creatures then possess some kids and act like hyenas in the way they laugh. They then try to track down another kid and top. Afterwords, the world somehow comes to near destruction from the top creatures in a Beyblade battle. Boring stuff follows.
There is just no way anybody should watch this. The creators should be ashamed and the voicing is just awful. Where did they come up with these cheesy lines and dry acting? I just wish nobody was harmed in creating this travesty of a Japanese show. "F"
The movie introduces the concept of dark bitbeasts and their release into the world when Tyson battles Daichi for the first time. These bitbeasts are reflections of Dragoon, Dranzer, Driger and Draciel and builds on the idea that these are the Guardian bitbeasts (from season 2). It was a novel idea that was a nice break from the World Championships and the repetitive element of someone trying to steal bitbeasts to rule the world. In this instance, 4 innocent people are possessed to embody the Bladers that control the dark bitbeasts. These Bladers were out to defeat the Bladebreakers and imprison the Guardian bitbeasts.
It is quite a simple story in essence, but I was happy that it returned the origins of the bitbeasts and gave us a bit more of an explanation about them. I almost wish that this story replaced the comparatively lacklustre introduction of Daichi in season 3. It was not a perfect story though. I wished that the other members of the Bladebreakers had more of a role in this movie. It just felt as though there were cameos and the main focus was on Tyson and Daichi. Although Tyson is the main protagonist in this story, the other characters still deserved to have more of a role. I was also slightly annoyed by how they changed the voice of Chief, although this was only a minor issue.
The animation was as it was in season 3. The characters looked their age, which was the main issue I had with their overly youthful look in season 2. In places the animation was a bit off. It just seemed that the movie was made in a bit of a rush. Perhaps there were time pressures or cost cutting problems. I still think that these issues could have been solved by a more intensive editing process that gave season 3 such a high quality look.
All in all, I enjoyed this movie and would recommend it if you enjoyed the original series. There are a few minor annoyances in the storyline and the character's involvement, but it does not detract from the overall experience. Enjoy!

- QuizDespite the fact that the movie isn't connected to the storyline of the TV-series and since the movie came out in theaters in Japan before G-Revolution started in Japan, this is Daichi's first animated appearance.

Tyson: Who are you?
Daichi: My name's Daichi. I challenge you! And when I win I'll be Japan's number one beyblader.
Tyson: You?
Daichi: If you want this trophy back you have to beybattle me for it.
Tyson: You want it so bad, you can have it.
Daichi: What?
Tyson: Just go back to whatever tree you fell out of.
Daichi: Hey! Are you making fun of me, Tyson?
Tyson: I'm not making fun of you. Whoever dressed you has already taken care of that for me.
Daichi: [Daichi takes his bag of his shoulder] Oh, yeah!
Daichi: [Daichi takes out his beyblade and his beyblade launcher and fires] Take that!
Tyson: [Tyson being shocked] Huh!
[Tyson takes out his beyblade and launcher]
Tyson: Watch it!
[fires his beyblade]
Tyson: [Tyson's beyblade and Daichi's beyblade ricochet back] You're not half bad. Been practising with the other animals at the zoo?
Daichi: That's it, Tyson!
Tyson: Okay, why not?
