I've only been able to catch one episode so far - I don't know why it's not playing on a US cable network - it's pretty funny. This show should be picked-up by one of the networks on DirecTv here; I guess it's just a matter of time.
I never read the books or anything, but the story line of the episode I saw was pretty funny - the kid who played Alice's boyfriend was an absolute freak.
I like the kid (Connot something or other) who plays her brother, and the dad (Dan Payne). Dan's a bit of a freak - he should be doing Saturday Night Live or something - I think his inner funny is trying to get out - though he looks a bit more leading-man type.

My wife and I have seen the first 3 episodes and the characters are really starting to grow on us. Great casting for the characters. Should be a hit, can't wait to see the rest of the season. Alice, the dad John and the meat eating vegan with the hairy armpits are my favorite so far. The best part is it's an actual funny Canadian made series, haven't had one of those since kids in the hall. Hopefully we don't lose great comedian writers to all the late shows that are in the states so that we continue to have great Canadian programs like Alice, I Think.
I'll be sure to tell others so that there is more than one season of this show, hate to lose it.

I've just started watching Alice I think with my family and we always get a good laugh out of the show! The writing is clever and witty and the characters do a great job performing this kind of satirical humor. I especially like Alice & the dad John and their quirky, awkward relationship. One of the episodes that sticks out in my mind is when John (Dan Payne) is asked to model for the local sport store...it is hilarious! It completely goes to his head and as he struts his stuff around the small town of Smithers thinking every woman MUST be in love with him, his family just shakes their heads! This is an original kind of TV comedy and we never miss it - we are looking forward to several more seasons of our new favorite comedy!
I was fortunate enough to attend the private premiere of the half hour comedy series, Alice I think. We watched Episode 6 and 10. I think that the series has the right ingredients to be successful as a Canadian production. The acting is good and the characters well cast. There will be a lot of teenage girls that will relate to the Carly McKillip character, Alice and a lot of teenage boys that will be fantasizing about being Alice's boyfriend. The two episodes that we watched did a good job of mixing, believability, relatability and humor. Dan Payne's performance as Alice's dad will definitely have people tuning in to see what will happen next. I look forward to its general release.
Great show, my three kids are in the same age bracket as the children on this show and they love it. Entertaining characters, have only seen two episodes but am looking forward to seeing further development of the characters and how they feed off each other. All four of the main "family" characters are very colorful, favorites are Alice and her Dad as they seem to be the most well developed humorous characters. Looking forward to tonight's episode where the handsome Dad does some goofy modeling. Dan Payne does a great job of playing a sensitive yet somewhat bumbling father in this show, his comedic presence definitely brings a very funny warmth to the show.
