Why is Tyler Perry allowed to make movies?

This movie was at best painful to watch. The dialog and acting in this movie was exceptionally trite. The characters were representations of various stereotypes of men and women in society. I found the "movie" to be pathetic and unworthy of the time I spent to watch. I am at a loss for why Tyler Perry continues to make movies. The examples of his movie making ability are difficult to watch and not even entertaining. To the critic who called naysayers of the movie "racist" , people do not have to be racist to realize the sheer ineptitude of this movie. I am far from racist, being as I am not entirely caucasian. I am part Japanese, Lebanese, Ukranian, Polish, and Hungarian (I know I am a mutt). I assure you I harbor no prejudice.

The movie is junk.

This Movie Was Awful. Just Awful

I really did not want to see this because I have not liked perry's other works. however, I allowed my girlfriends to drag me to it. I got what I expected. A low class movie that was very bad from the direction, to the acting, to the production. I swear, I do not know what goes through casting folks minds when they make their choices. Have they even read the scripts at all? And I guess it is asking too much for the director to direct the actors and actresses. I say this because surely he can see what is going on in front of the camera, so he must know it is awful. So this would be the time to give the actors some direction to help them become better, and make something that won't have audiences washing their eyes out with bleach after viewing this garbage, and lamenting the fact that they are unable to physically gouge the memory of having seen this from their brain. It was my fault really, I know perry sucks, i know his movies suck, and I know after the last one, I said never again. Yet I went again anyway. I need to have my head examined.

You will never get these two hours back!

Tyler Perry is a genius because black people are so desperate to see their own in movies they will watch anything. This guy is making millions of dollars with substandard writing, and terrible acting. The people in this movie do not portray black professionals but rather idiots. If a rich guy was doing gangster rap we would rip him to shreds because of his inability to capture the essence of a life that he truly doesn't understand and this is no different. Tyler Perry clearly has an inner city mind and is trying to write about middle class Black America, but doesn't have a clue. I know a fraud when I see one! The movie has no substance, it's not believable, and it's awful. I would rather watch paint dry then watch this movie again. My words may seem harsh, but I'm sick and tired of stupid black movies.

One of the worst movies ever.

*******includes spoilers**********

I don't think I have ever written a review on IMDb before, but this movie was so exceptionally bad that I feel compelled to share, in hopes that others will read this and save themselves two hours.

This movie was bad on every possible level, and I can't for the life of me fathom why there are 7 pages of positive comments for this movie. Wake up--this movie was a colossal failure.

Tyler Perry created a cast of characters who are so stereotyped and flat that it was insulting. My favorite example is the part where the guys are sitting around the dinner table, and Mike asks Terry how many times he's cheated on his wife throughout their 8 year marriage, and he says 0. Mike is so completely taken aback at the idea of fidelity that he decides that Terry must be "gay". Yep. Nice job Perry. Way to perpetuate negative stereotypes about black men.

But really, this isn't just a problem for cartoon-villain Mike. Every single character in this movie is like a cardboard cutout. Not to mention that the acting is pretty terrible. Sorry Miss Jackson, I love you to death but you should stick to singing.

Maybe the worst part of this movie was the incessant crying. Or the ridiculous scene where the Terry lies to Diane about getting another woman pregnant and then they laugh it off in the next scene. Maybe it was the predictability of the whole "sheila ends up with the sheriff" arc. Or maybe it was the 3 minute scene where the camera pans up and down sheriff troy's hot wife beater wearing chest with "bom chika wah wah" in the background. Or could it be the lack of--oh, i don't know--a coherent plot with some semblance of action. Well, whatever it was, my point here is basically this: If you are going out to rent a movie, please, for the love of all that is holy, do not choose this.

Worst acting I have ever seen in any movie.

This movie has the worst acting I have ever seen in any movie. I know it's supposed to be a comedy/drama but come on. It seemed like the actors were just standing there reading their lines. No real acting involved. The funny parts, or I assume the parts that were supposed to be funny, weren't funny at all. I would recommend all actors in this film go back to acting school. Janet Jackson certainly didn't do herself any favors by being in this movie. It's a Tyler Perry movie and I would have expected more from him. We are supposed to have 10 lines of text to be able to post a review. I don't have 10 lines of text to write about this review. If there were anything positive to say then maybe but as it stands I have nothing positive to say about this movie.
