Essentially, Professionals is a throwback to the Stephen Cannell style of TV show. A lot of action, even killing (unlike the A-Team), but a relatively light tone overall. You have to be in the right mood to enjoy it, or have a taste that skews towards the kind of shows that were popular in the 1980s.
It was pleasant seeing Tom Welling again, but I don't anticipate watching the show on a regular basis.

I couldn't tell you right now because I can't find the show on anything in the USA. Someone please help.
I love Brendan Fraser <3 and i love all the dumb stuff because I like programs that have characters I'd love to know, love to have over for a weekend - i don't party or blow or snort. I like people and all the people in this series, except for Luther a real unredeemable cut out movie theatre cardboard bad guy, are people i could - I would - I did care about especially the village kids - it was fun watching
the only shirtless worth noting: danny is decent. cute. the shirtless moment of the african war lord is OK. the african war lord actor turns out some good comedy ... the village african kid is definitely a knock out for your 13 year old daughter to swoon over. ... actually some OK acting. Was there a director or was this self organized? and plot? like i said leave your suspension of disbelief at the check room" you will not need it here. it's not matrix
silly fun and some ethical people
- except danny the younger brother and swann's daughter: 1, 2 pains i don't care to know.
- the king fu kick box is OK and in a show like this suspension of disbelief is not an issue: who would believe any of it. it's delicious funny sweet lovable and africans and ladies are real people in the show
- and it's the white rich which are the stereotype empty shell fill ins and losers...

Professionals looks like a throwback of television series from 20 to 30 years ago. It looks slick and fast moving.
Director Bharat Nalluri was involved in the BBC television series Spooks. It did a lot with a low budget and it is evidence that once you have paid the cast, there is not a lot of spare change here.
South Africa is standing in for a lot of international locations.
Peter Swann (Brendan Fraser) is a billionaire mogul who is about to launch a revolutionary satellite that would give early warnings of global pandemics. The rocket explodes on take off and it looks like sabotage.
Swann hires Vincent Corbo (Tom Welling) a clever, resourceful and professional troubleshooter along with his brother.
Vincent claims that a sniper took out the rocket with a well aimed bullet. However that is the beginning of a conspiracy.
The first episode is entertaining in a switch off your brain way. The low budget is evident. Welling and Fraser take it all in their stride knowing it is all a bit silly.

Not gonna watch this show. I know enough; corny electronic music in and between scenes, like they have in day time soap operas and porn movies. Sign that they are too lazy to make good cinematic takes. And when one of the characters got jumped, the bad guy ran away and the hero says in a sinister tone (to himself) I'm gonna get you! Well then that's it.
I turned it off and will never turn it on again.
