Visual treat!

Excellent graphics befitting the fantasy genre, grand scale and music, Shivraj-Shruthi stealing the limelight.. many things make this movie worth a watch! Yes, proceedings are predictable and second half is a drag but just have to accept the director's viewpoint and move on.

A gateway to the fantasy genre in Sandalwood

After almost a 2 year halt of major cinematic releases in theatres, Bhajarangi 2 from Sandalwood hit the screens and the timing couldn't have been better. But of course, the tragedy that struck (passing away of Puneeth Rajkumar) Karnataka on the day of its release, will forever be remembered. Despite all the hiccups, this is definitely a feast for the fans and the experience of watching it in a theatre. I like to review Bharajrangi from 2 perspectives.

From a making point of view:

This is one of the brilliant Kannada movies I have seen from a technical aspect. Very few movies in India touch upon the fantasy genre and those who do, are usually very bad at representation. Director Harsha, sets the right tone from the start that this is a fantasy movie and does not try to balance or relate it to the real world which is a very good thing. He also does a very good job in not defining the 'time period' in the movie. It is all left to the viewer's imagination, whether it's mid-80s or 90s, think as you like. So trying to find fault in the representation does not make sense as the movie does not tell you about the time period in the first place. The whole movie pretty much takes place in a studio/green screen set up and the production design is quite brilliant. The romantic song shot in the backdrop of the village set is quite beautiful and you really do not complain much about the authenticity as you have already entered the fantasy world by then. Harsha also doesn't drag the romance part of the movie too much and narrating it as a 'middle-aged' romance works perfectly for both Shiva Rajkumar and Bhavana. Make-up department also deserves a lot of credit along with camera work and visuals.

One of the best parts about the movie is how it has given chances to newcomers for major villain roles without importing anyone from other industries. Primary antagonist Cheluvaraj does a brilliant job in delivering some of the very difficult old Kannada lines and it really makes the Kannadiga in me proud seeing the new gen actors speaking Kannada eloquently. Shivanna as usual eases through two different shades of the role and if anyone wants to learn on how to act with just eyes, he is the master.

From a storyline and sequel point of view:

I know that Bhajarangi 2 is not a direct sequel to the first part although the end of first part hinted at a sequel. The comparison is inevitable as it is the same director-actor duo. Although this movie is much crisper than the first part, it does not have a strong storyline which connects the two timelines. The first part, although takes a while to get to the main story, had a strong connect with the past and a strong cause. Bhajarangi 2 probably tries too hard to convey humanitarian messages amidst its fantasy storyline. Although the second phase of the story is very good to watch and involves some really good action sequences, there are too many characters to comprehend. I personally did not get the same level of goosebumps watching this as compared to the first movie, primarily because of how Shivanna's character evolves in the first movie. I am very happy that Harsha has cut down on any unnecessary songs in this movie, but the background score doesn't make much of an impact until almost up to the events leading upto the climax.

Overall Bhajarangi 2 is a unique watch and looks to take Kannada industry's fantasy genre to a new level. As a fan of Shivanna and mass movies, I probably expected something more, something much stronger.

Un Human Exposed.

There is no hypocrisy, people cannot accept these kind of movies because of their, ego, selfishness, anger, grief and limitations.

One who understand Sanatana Dharma properly then it's easy to say what the movie said about is Humanity, All living beings are equal before almighty God.

"If you cannot create a life then you don't have rights to kill a life." Coming to movie 1st half is little bit slow narration and 2nd half is Excellent where you experience a different world from your chair.

BGM is at classical and epic.

Shivanna , he lived in the character.

Co actors acted well.

Om Shanti.

Garish and Loud movie

Boring and confusing movie. All hype and no script.

Boring second half and director has tried to use a lot of sentimental elements from all his movies and Netflix series too. Tries to add too many things in one movie and kills everything. Dialogues and costumes are horrible and like in village plays, and thankfully muted in trailers.

Great Visuals

Fantasy Is the genre which is less explored in Kannada Industry , Story is also Unique . I don't know why some people are saying it is same story as Bhajarangi , It is Totally Different . Can be Enjoyable movie . Can be watch with Family .

Hatsoff Shivanna for his Energy .

Surprising factor is Arjun Janya's BGM , It is So Energetic .

Horrible movie

A Harsha has spent his time during lockdown watching many movies and Netflix drama. Here he tries bringing all into one hocus pocus movie. No logic and hope he stops direction.

Movie was outstanding. Don't ever try to miss out the movie

I can see some people are reviewing in a lot of negative way which movie and its story ,cinematography not at all related. Let leave those review to those who give them, after all it was their expectations and their thoughts.

Let come to my review : first of all The direction and cinematography was outstanding .

The villain was awesome in his part of acting.

The movie is focused more on humanity linked with spiritual world. Had a wonderful experience. Don't miss out the opportunity to watch the movie.

Stale story and screenplay by Harsha

Seems like a recycled copy of Bhajarangi. Thankful to have NOT watched this in theatre....

Pros: Acting by SRK

Cons: Muddled story. Old style storytelling... Garish costumes Villains behave like kids who lost their candy Most sequences are quite silly, loud and unconnected.

A Harsha needs to find new story for his films

Pros: Acting by Shivanna and Cheluvaraj Set design

Cons: Story is identical to Bhajarangi.

Horrible and garish costumes.

Ayurveda and disease related concepts are only in first half and second half is all about heroism.

Overacting in many scenes makes the movie not realistic

Overall, A Harsha needs to find new story for his films. Definitely NOT waiting for Vedha...

Enter the fantasy world of Bhajarangi 2

It seemed like Shivanna is a Super Hero and named Bhajarangi 😍

It's not film it's Epic, Why I have said it's epic because you will be entering fantacy world and you will experience fantacy hero Bhajarangi who has good heart and saviour of people.. Bhajarangi is our own super hero. 😍

I wonder how come few ppl have given negative review here these are the ppl who like over the top action and logic less other language movies and give negative review for good Kannada movie.

Watch movie without any expectation and you will enjoy every bit of it.. You can take your kids and parents without any hesitation for sure..

Pros: 1. Watching Shivanna is treat and feels wonder how can someone who is 59 years old act like 35+.. 2.villains are terrific.. 3. BGM 4. Cinematography top-notch 5.nee sigovaregu is treat for sure in screen thnx for Harsha sir for that..

Cons: for brainless ppl narration will be confusion..

Unable to digest Loud BGM music, tribes attire and their behaviour is horrible to watch Sometimes there is no connectivity and no logic with what the director is showing.

Old story in new cinema.

This is the fourth movie that A Harsha has repeated his Bhajarangi storyline - Vajrakaaya, Jai Maruthi 800, Seetharama kalyana and now B2. With movies like Baahubali, Magadheera and our own Kavaludhaari showing how costumes and sets can be linked to a particular period in time, this movie has costumes from all of human kind and should be a case study for evolution of mankind. If you have watched Bhajarangi, you will feel a sense of deja Vu everywhere including Shivanna's green eye lens showing when hero gets his power from original and killed Bhajarangi.

I expected a lot of realism in Ayurveda and diseases, but it remained in the teaser and nothing here. Time KFI learnt to make realistic and quality movies.

Poor, long and boring second half.

Engaging first half and a second role of Shivarajkumar that wasnt in theatre. But this roles makes the movie feel like Bhajarangi story.

Second half is too long and confusing. Too many things - Ayurveda, Dhanvantari, Disease, Hero introduction, rebirth - and lot of flashbacks. Felt like the story was being revised as second half was being shot. We were all confused about the central theme of the movie. Also, all these concepts are just 1-2 dialogues and then there is no continuity. All forgotten in name of building hero's image. Poor, long and boring second half.

Mr. A Harsha, I sincerely hope you do review your story and shoots with colleagues, friends and family to solicit their feedback and honestly self criticize your work. #Vedha is definitely not on my watchlist after this movie.

Remake Raja Harsha's new 'phan'tasy drama

Remake Raja Harsha sits during lockdown and watches all Netflix GOT and Viking story. He then asks his kids to tell him something about Ayurveda and Dhanvantari. Once lockdown eases, he shoots this mind numbing drama and then empties Jayannas pocket for VFX. There is no realism or connect with actual facts in the proceedings. Hope he starts doing some research on subject. There is something called GOOGLE that can help him.

Overdone cinema

Same Story and cast. Felt like watching Bhajarangi in theatres in 2021.

A Harsha's story is the same and he tries to include new elements. But he is so engrossed in hero worship and commercialism that the concepts are forgotten and it goes back to Bhajarangi 1 storyline.

Costumes are weird and cant relate to an era in time. Villains are in viking costume in an era when vans are being driven and big bindis are like those in Kolkata. Shruthi madam smokes Cigar and then becomes godly. Nonsensical stuff in the era on 2020's.

Scenes and acting is overdone many times. Strictly for hardcore Shivanna fans.
