A disappointing damp squib of an ending, as if the writers ran out of time. It is not a disgusting betrayal like Game of Thrones, but is rushed and the choices over winners and losers seems contrived.
This series has been awesome with each season better than the one preceding and overall, top class TV. It is possible this has coloured my view of the ending having had my expectations stoked up.

Was the finale incredible? No.
Does it deserve the low ratings? No, those users are being dramatic. The episode closed out basically everyone's arcs, and it's fitting for the big event that happened in this episode to have occurred.

The naysayers are those who view themselves as wantabe critics. The truth is that the twist and turns were there to the end. I will miss this show terribly.
Why cant they take a good look at breaking bad and write an ending that wrap the story. If you know a season would be your last, then you close the circle, you sharpen your script so all loose ends come to a resolution... And not that 'Let the audience figure it out' or ' it is an open ending, so anything is possible'... those are writers laziest excuses to not apply themselves. Yes, ending a story is the hardest part of a movie/serie. That what an audience is left with when departing from it. And if the writers painted themselves in a corner, that is their problem to solve, not ours. This leave a sour taste in my mouth knowing we may never have a proper conclusion to this otherwise, great show. And that is why show like breaking bad are so rare... start, middle and end were tought... and in the end, we judge a piece of art as whole. Ozark miss his landing, and we will wondering if a season 5 will happen to finish the tale...
I had high hopes for the series finale and unfortunately it somewhat disappointed. I won't spoil it for anyone, even though I desperately want to. That being said, the best thing I can say about it is that there is no shortage of shock and awe.
I have been watching since the beginning and the first three seasons were commanding. Even part one of season four set the conclusion up for greatness. The latter half and inevitable ending, however, were only just acceptable. This seems to be a common trend amongst shows that become too complicated for their own good; it's often impossible to close the loop holes efficiently. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discredit it because I am such a loyal fan, but I think anyone would agree that the showrunners could have done a better job. Too many questions were left unanswered! It all boils down to high expectations for a high caliber experience that weren't met, although we do eventually have to make peace with it.
The flipside is that I don't think there will ever be another show in the future that can touch Ozark in its greatness, so that definitely proves its prowess. Sad to see it go without the bang it so richly deserved.
