Carter dug in his heels trying to be on the freaking stage to get credit for the hostages return but sure, it was Reagan, WITH NO ACTUAL EVIDENCE THAT REAGAN ACTUALLY STOPPED THEIR DEPARTURE UNTIL HE WAS SWORN IN, to the point that some pin head claims 'oh there's circumstantial but NO REAL EVIDENCE' but sure, it was some covert operation?

Reagan WON IN A LANDSLIDE and all due to the absolutely abhorrent governing by Carter and his administration- the Iranian crisis aside, Carter destroyed our economy, our country, our beliefs, and that election was an absolute agenda against Carter. Full freaking stop.

Now, say what you want, there was the Iran contra affair, but truth be told, Reagan did what he did because it was the lesser of two evils- Iraq and Iran were both used dubiously by our five for ill attempts at coups, and the sooner we realize that we need to stay out of the Middle East, the better we'll be.

But seriously, stop this nonsense of trying to rewrite history with propaganda- having a close family friend who was an hostage we know very well how poorly they were treated, and how little Carter was doing to broker the return of the hostages. I have absolutely no empathy for the hostage takers- they're evil incarnate who deserve to rot. Despite the filmmaker's attempt to portray them as sympathetic, they're gross examples of disgusting selfishness.

Your government allowed for an monarchy and the thriving of the Shah- Carter encouraged the partnership, and despite the overthrow now the sharia law rules the country and its as big a mess as it ever was. Our government has no business meddling in foreign elections, but the people of a country should realize the ramifications of actions before not after.
