What a beautiful movie, really heart touching and moving. Literally cried in some of the scenes! We all have seen many biopics on cricket especially but I really like this movie. The storyline is absolutely amazing and acting is top notch by Madhur Mittal, it's not easy to fill the shoes of Murli sir. From slumdog millionaire to 800 Madhur Mittal has come a long way. He has aced the role, the transformation is just mind-blowing. The dialogue delivery, the screenplay is quite amazing... I really hope he does alot of movies here in Bollywoo Overall it's a nice watch, people should go watch in the theatres.
After watching 800, I will just say that a star is never born, it's created! This is a transformative moment in Madhur Mittal's acting career, that helped him showcase a new depth of talent. A challenging role to play, but Madhurr ne toh Chakka maar diya yaar! I, as an audience was deeply impressed by his nuanced performance, recognizing his ability to breathe life into complex characters. With 800, Madhurr established himself as a versatile actor, opening doors to diverse and compelling roles, thus shaping a promising trajectory in his acting journey. I can vouch for him and this movie. Kudos to him.💓💓
A story that needed to be heard! I must say that 800 sensitively portrays Muthiah Muralidaran's struggles during the chucking controversy, offering a nuanced perspective on the challenges he faced. The film aptly captures the intensity of scrutiny and the emotional toll it took on the cricketing legend. Through powerful scenes and authentic storytelling, viewers witness Murali's resilience in the face of adversity. It portrays not just a cricketer's battle against allegations but also the broader issue of prejudice and bias in sports. M. S Sripathy has effectively captured this chapter of Muralidaran's life with grace, shedding light on the complexity of his journey and the unwavering spirit that made him an enduring icon in cricket history! What a mind-blowing journey! Murali is truly a legend, and 800 is a great portrayal. I loved the film.......
Murali is undeniably one of the greatest cricketers to ever play the game. And it's often interesting to hear that his journey was riddled with as much roadblocks to rival his own success. Too many of course, to fit into a single movie, yet was exactly what was attempted here; with none of them ending up being any more insightful than a sentence on a Wikipedia article.
800 is essentially a weakly written checklist of career highlights with no perceivable goal than to merely say "hi, this here is Murali. He did ___ in the year ____". And it wasn't just the writing, but the acting too was poor on all fronts; starting from the obviously inexperienced supporting crew, all the way up to lead actor Madhur Mittal; who does everything in his power to milk any bit of emotion from this rather soulless script. The VFX was noticeably bad too; where all the shots were so poorly composited that it ended up distracting us from a movie that desperately needed any bit of our attention. The movie also attempts a stylistic approach to showcasing a cricket match, yet fails spectacularly in that too; with the end result looking more like choreographed stock videography than an actual cricket match.
The problem with 800 is that it screams inexperience in almost every aspect, and you can't help but feel that Murali deserves so much more than what this movie ended up being.
