Vaazha is an entertainer, but tried to cover a "sophisticated subject" in a movie medium. The actors gave a commendable performance, everyone fits to their role. The screenplay was superb, but slightly failed to capture the totality of emotions between son & father/parents.
The film brings smile even to the older generations. And it gives a real remedy for suicidal thoughts😁. If you watch with your parents, then you get many topics for discussion and for sharing emotions further.
It gives a feeling to everyone that life is a continuous journey for those who stand even after failures. They explained a serious subject in a funny way.
Editing was good. Good creativity, overall...!!

This was an entertaining watch - one you can watch with friends and even family - but with friends you might enjoy the first half tremendously. ( Especially if you older than say 27-28 ).
First les talk about what works : -
1. Casting was spot on - the story happens across different time periods and all actors, especially the child actors of various ages played convincingly and the pair of father's and their son were casted really well as well. Especially the pair of Noby and his son ( all actors including child actors resembled him )
2. Period settings were on point ( the dress may be less so, but attention to detail was really commendable)
3. Cinematography and screenplay was organic and done with passion and finesse ( there is a fight scene near the middle which was brilliantly shot, similarly the stunning shots towards the end, inside the house, hospital - all were excellent.
4. Perfomance were pretty good - especially Aziz and Kottayam Naseer.
Now things that could be better -
1. Editing / direction could have been more crisp - the pace in the second half felt a bit too slow and few scenes seemed a bit of repetition and few elements felt could be elaborated or explained with more depth ( the story line around the 'sucessful' guy and his troubles and issues could either have been excluded or explained a bit more in detail - now it looks like a caricature and you don't 'feel' much for his plight due to this )
2. Ending was good and bad - won't go into details since it might spoil - but more depth could have given on what happens to the boys a bit more
3. Music and score was just ok - not really giving any lasting impression ( I cannot even recollect any song from the movie after leaving the theatre)

Vazha - A laugh riot. Really had a good laugh this year in theatres after Premalu. All actors did well except Basil. He is repetitive and I had enough of him. He is omnipresent now in every other movie.
Joemon jyothir was exceptional. Expect to see him many more movies. Started liking him from guruvayoor ambalanadayil the only part I enjoyed in that, otherwise a dampener movie.
Post interval the movie moved to emotional track and thought they would insert "Nanma" or preachy mode thankfully the movie again pulled back to the comedy genre and ending was also not a usual one. Music was exceptional as well but sometimes it is too loud that some dialogues are not heard clearly.

Highly relatable to 90s Malayalee kids entertainer. What could've been complete cringe behaviour and humour of the so-called backbenchers is saved and enhanced by some clever use of performances, editing etc. The inclusion of actual "Vaazhas" throughout the movie was fun. The emotional aspects they tried in the second half worked really well. The inclusion of different father-children relationships was great. Even the surprising empathy that is given to the issues of the so-called first benchers when you expect the movie to take the side of the protagonists was nice to see. However, I'm not sure how much this will work without a houseful audience.

The story is pretty straightforward and this combined with clever acting and directing makes this movie an above-average experience. The talent-rich cast is one of the main highlights of this film.
The climax could have been executed more neatly, but that's not a drawback at all. After all, this is a pure comedy movie. There were lots of laughable moments. The second half was more engaging for me.
The veteran actors has done a great job. Noby Marcose deserves more roles like this and there is no point in typecasting him as a mimicry star.
Overall a good movie and we would love to see more films from the same cast in the future.

It's a movie made especially for boys. We can relate a lot of things that happened in our previous college and school time.
Friendship, lecture bunks, arguments, relationships, and all the highs and lows that the teens experience are the main themes of this film.
Boys' life transition from immaturity to abruptly taking on responsibilities is presented brilliantly.
Malayalam Film industry is overshadowing BOLLYWOOD.
Cast of movie:- Siju Sunny as Ajo Thomas Joemon Jyothir as Muhammad bin Salim Ebrahim (Moosa) Amith Mohan Rajeshwari as Vishnu Radhakrishnan Anuraj O. B. as Abdul Kalam Anshid Anu as Vivek Anand Saaf Boi as B. C. Vishwam Kottayam Nazeer as Radhakrishnan, Vishnu's Father Azees Nedumangad as Thomas "Thomachan", Ajo's Father Noby Marcose as Ebrahim, Moosa's Father Basil Joseph as CI Krishnan (Cameo Appearance) Jagadish as Vishwam's Father Meenakshi Unnikrishnan as Maya Sruthy Manikandan as Daisy Ziya Vincent as Reetha Hashir as Hashir Alan Bin Siraj as Alan Ajin Joy as Ajin Vinayak as Vinayak Gibin Gopinath as Vivek's Father Arun zol as Abdul Kalam's Father Sminu Sijo as Radhika, Vishnu's mother P. Vaazha - Biopic of a Billion Boys (2024) :
Brief Review -
To all the backbenchers and their fathers! An absolute riot folded with rooted emotions. Vaazha starts off in rocket speed mode and starts making sense from the 4th or 5th minute itself. True friends are met in the hardest times, he says, and the two bored kids find each other as friends for life. That's how it's done. The third one comes unknowingly, and that's how it happens in real life too. The fourth and fifth ones come with a humorous line that says that people become friends at the gym and other places, so we became friends outside the headmaster's office. The gang takes you on a hilarious ride from school to college and then to job days. The school part should have been bigger because I believe everybody has their most unforgettable memory from the school days only. The college days are even funnier because the boys have almost turned into men. The first day of college, a big fight, and then one of the beats one of the professors unknowingly. Wild fun. Those fathers were angry but had to get used to the idea after a while. So used to that they even have to defend them sometimes. But towards the end, that defending becomes emotional and powerful. The relationship between father and son is like that. No matter how big a failure you are in your life, your father will stand with you and encourage you to do something that's doable because he had gone through the same in his past. The love affairs are hilarious in the beginning but then get a bit dated later. We still enjoy the delivery boy and tea partner stuff, though. I have been a first bencher myself, but I used to hang out with backbenchers, so I know the kind of pressure they got from their parents and how I would feel sorry for them and also laugh at them at the same time. The first bencher and his wife had to be separated; that's one way to look at the so-called better life. Sometimes, the worthless fellas hold more value than smart students. I agree despite being out of the club.

Watching this film made me worry a bit about my own future as a final-year student. 😨
The timelapse and continuation scene with the banana plant was really well done, and there's a scene where students named Abdul Kalam and Vivekananda get punished by a teacher right in front of a portrait of Gandhi - nonviolence reference. 🤣
The way the film captures the little details of childhood is top-notch, although it has a few cliched moments here and there. Watching the students, it felt like maybe they looked a bit older than 10th-grade students, but it still works fine.
One thing I love about the Malayalam film industry is how they make you feel what's happening on screen, like you're part of it. That ending felt like a personal attack, especially as a student myself.
The message of this film: when you have the support of your own people, outside opinions don't matter.
