After witnessing popular Anna's rejection, loner bookworm Nukumizu starts connecting with other heartbroken girls, including track athlete Lemon and literature club's Chika.
Lemon goes to the gym storage room to talk to Nukumizu. They get locked in but are rescued just before they pass out from the heat. Lemon's crush Mitsuki shows up at the nurse's office. Later, the two visit the lit club together.
Lemon and Yanami join literature club. Student council pressures them to demonstrate activities. Tamaki and Koto assign writing web novels. Club members go on beach training camp weekend to work on novels.
Nukumizu endures a chaotic few days of being constantly distracted by his sister Kaju and Yanami. One afternoon, Yanami invites Nukumizu to a café and the two spot Lemon and Ayano hanging out together.
Lemon opens up to Nukumizu about her complex feelings for Ayano. She decides to clear things up with Ayano and Chihaya. She asks Nukumizu to escort her to her former elementary school at night to secretly meet Ayano and finally tell him the honest truth.
Nukumizu, Yanami, and Komari go to town to research a theme for their Tsuwabuki Festival exhibit. They successfully find a new club advisor and preparations seem to be going smoothly.
Nukumizu and Komari prepare for a literature club exhibit, "Edible Readings," for the Tsuwabuki Festival. While returning books to the library, they witness Tamaki and Koto on a date together.
Nukumizu and friends manage to complete the literature club exhibit in time. Once the festival begins, the exhibit draws a constant stream of visitors. Yanami steps in to give Nukumizu and Komari a break to go explore the other events on campus together.
Komari struggles with public speaking anxiety during club presidents' meeting preparation. Nukumizu offers assistance, but it leads to a disagreement, causing Komari to walk away frustrated.
