Jun Miura began drawing a manga adaptation of the light novel this is based on on AlphaPolis' AlphaPolis Web Manga website in February 2014. The ninth volume shipped in August 2021, with the tenth volume scheduled to be released on October 20. The light novel and manga combined have over 800,000 cumulative copies in circulation.
Based on a fantasy light novel written by Abe Masayuki and illustrated by Fuse Ryuuta. Abe began writing the fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in May 2012. AlphaPolis began publishing the novel with illustrations by Ryuuta Fuse in April 2013. The tenth and final volume shipped in June 2018.
Before the postponement, it was announced that the director would be Norikazu Ishigooka, and that it would be animated by Sotsu, along with Makaria and Yokohama Animation Lab.
