The Judd Family: Truth Be Told

I never really liked Naomi Judd off the stage. I always found her fake religiosity and affected persona distressing. But I did like her songwriting talent and the Judds .

This documentary sort of put lots of unanswered questions together about the family dynamics, secrets , and lies surrounding the family. Naomi was a tragic figure who could never escape her demons and passed them to her daughters . The sexual abuse Wy, and Ashley suffered is heartbreaking and the inclusion of her rock Larry Strickland was so necessary in getting the whole picture . For Naomi, it seemed like suicide sadly was her only option Ashley did get solve peace and resolve about her childhood , and the complicated relationship Naomi and Wy had will probably always whisper to Wynonna, who does appear to have emerged pretty strong

It never mentions the addict daughter of Wynonna and how her parenting relates to her parenting, nor do we get any sense of Ashley and her life today . Excellent documentary.

This documentary is a fascinating study of a hugely gifted yet tormented family. Naomi Judd struggled with mental health issues all her life, but she recognized her daughter Wynona's extraordinary talent and managed to pull her family out of poverty and into the limelight. My heart went out to Wynona and Ashley Judd, listening to their mother's voice recording and bravely sharing painful memories. It's really an amazing story, and gripping to watch. I came away full of admiration for the strength and courage of the three Judd women. They went through so much, both separately and together, and each one had huge challenges to overcome. In the end it's a story about love and forgiveness that inspires us all.

This Judd Family television series was brilliantly written as it was presented by Ashley, Wynona, Naomi's recordings, and Larry (Naomi's husband). Ashley and Wynona were very brave and courageous as they shared their family's deepest secrets and did it without compromising the unconditional love they most definitely possess for each other. I loved the Judds family before seeing this series and love them even more after learning what they have all been through and endured. My prayers go out to you ladies (and Larry) and I thank you for giving me comfort over the years with your talents in the entertainment industry (music and film).

Just when you think your life or family isn't Ozzie and Harriett, seeing celebrities as humans rather than entertainers was actually a service. Showing how these family histories transcend everyone. It was done tastefully and openly. No one is shown in a bad light. Its shows humans and how we can all relate to humans, whether famous or not.

Life isnt sterile and this show does a good job of reminding people that famous people are people too! It also helps provide service to be aware of mental health issues we could all face. No family is immune from mental health issues. We can all relate at some level.

This is NOT a reality show. This is REALITY.
