Episodio #1.3

Marie comes face to face with one of Paul's alleged victims, and she has to face a grilling from Paul's barrister Zoe.

It's a strong third episode, better I thought than the previous offering, after the initial shock of the first episode, it's starting to pan out and explore the effects on others around Paul.

The focus this episode is very much on Marie, it's her story, how she fits into, and sees the events. Is she a monster, or is she simply married to a monster? Julie Walters does what she does best, she brings the character to life, it's hard not to try and understand where she's coming from. Tim McInnerny was also excellent I thought.

I'm still not too sure if Paul is guilty or not, I think it's going to go down to the last to reveal.

I loved the production values, the filming and camera work are film like.

It's been a while since I saw part two, I don't know why I quit it, but I remembered the story, and that must count for something.

A very good watch, 8/10.

We can gather that both Paul and Marie are too wrapped up in themselves to deal with the issues facing their daughter dealing with drug issues and other traumas maybe associated with the past. Hence why they had that birthday party and needed, expected her to behave.

Now the lawyers are preparing for his defence. Marie is now unsure how much does she really know about her husband. How much infidelity was there? how much of it was consensual?

The strongest part of the episode is when Paul talks to his daughter Dee about his relationship with his violent father as a kid and a suicide attempt, realising that his father was getting turned on when beating him and Paul swore he would never turn out to be like his dad.

The lawyers and their investigator find some evidence that indicate Paul might be innocent of the accusations. All nicely set up for the final episode. There are doubts about Paul, is he innocent or did behave inappropriately?
