Managed to wade through series one despite the wealth of dialogue liberally peppered with profanity, media techno babble and unfinished sentences with nothing meaningful being said e.g. " Are we good"? , "Yeah , no, yeah. Golden. All good, yeah. Hook up later". And that's without the F and C words every other sentence. You don't see any of the characters actually doing any work and overall I find I'm really not interested in any of the people portrayed. I only watched it this far as I'm using up the remaining days of my membership to the platform that shows it. Decided I'm not going to continue spending £10 a month for garbage like this. I'll reconsider at a later date if and when shows of the quality of Babylon Berlin etc., are on offer. 2 stars are for me, one or each series or part therof that I watched.

In the real world,it's not likely that the Roy's would survive their outrageous, manufactured, (patently ridiculous) behaviors. I'm also no longer impressed by scenes with private jets and helicopters, protagonists who speak fluent MBA, use the F word creatively or use secret passwords to access exclusive venues. Already 'shown these, seen that'.
It appears the gist of this entire series is exercising poor judgement with no shame, no dignity, no respect, no empathy and no class, yet still expecting to succeed!
If this is a comedy, I can't tell. If it's drama, it's often more cringe worthy, than original or seductive. This series has potential, but someone needs to try harder because viewers who have invested their time in this (mostly 'meh' with the occasional moment) series, deserve much better.
Some notable "All Time Best Series" earned ratings of eight and above. Downton Abby 8.4, Handmaid's Tale 8.4,... Mad Men, 8.6....Billions 8.4.
Succession 8.7......(Really?)

This might be one of the strangest shows on television today. A lot of money was spent developing excellent sets, well-conceived ___location shots; a superb cast; talented directors. But despite all that, it's completely off. Just off. Because, weirdly, it feels as though it's being written by 16 year olds. The characters in the show aren't portrayals of credible adults, they're adults as conceived by kids. These adults have no sense of responsibility. They swear all the time -- the f-word always amuses them. Whenever an adult touches another, they all get hard, or hot. They drink like teenagers. They do drugs like teenagers. They talk like teenagers. They are, essentially, teenagers.
Worse, however, is that these pretend adults, who are suppose to be running one of the largest media empires in the country and a major presidential political campaign, don't sound as though they have the slightest idea what they're doing: their business jargon all comes out of some Business 101 text book. It's worse than just bad, it's silly.
Worst of all, however, is that all the adults are terrible people. Worse than terrible. They're all cruel, mean, vindictive, evil, and thoughtless, just as a raging teenager might portray his loathed parent. These are the worst people ever created for a television show.
All in all, the program is compelling and fast, but only if you want to watch a juvenile world view. And an angry one at that.
(Not even going to go into the insane plot mistakes, the characters who disappear, the actions that make no sense, the lack of continuity. Not even going there.)

This show is so overated. There is not a single endearing character in this series. The plots are boring and stupid. These incessant zooms of the wired camera on faces are fking unbearable. The story is so shallow and the characters are so damn boring, all daddy's spoiled spoiled babies. All the ridiculous situations and overly sexualized dialogues are completely unrealistic and unbearable. This series is so slow and lame that it becomes unwatchable, and there are people who sell it to you as brilliant and crazy writing lol It's so overrated, this is the most overrated series of all time and the show robbed the emmys to better call saul.
It was rated 8.9 now it's 8.8 ah ah don't cry :)

I'm halfway through the 3rd episode and getting more angry by the minute. The characters are obnoxious to the point of being annoying. The small talk is painful, so everyone reduces to the "F" word for impact. Doesn't work. Could have been brilliant........sadly it's not!

All three seasons are the same. With the exception of the patriarch, the other roles are poorly cast and acted. The business scenarios are silly and unrealistic. Even Aiden Brody is poor and can't make this compelling. Also seems to be more Hollywood boorish obsession with rich people.
Nothing much more to add than my title, other than I expected a serious drama and got a soap opera type show, dissapointing. But I have to add 150characters so I repeat it's a wafer thin deep soap opera.

I told my wife I didn't care for corporate intrigue but she told me everyone said it was great. So I sat through a story with aggressively unlikeable people speaking incredibly unrealistic dialogue. Each of the characters in the first episode is a cliche stereotype, each saying their motivations out loud to the very people the situation calls for hiding them from. I brightened when I saw them all in two helicopters near the end of the episode, but sadly neither helicopter crashed. If you like seeing horrible people do horrible things, this the show for you.

I tried to love it. I restarted it halfway hoping I just wasn't engaged at first. But this is a terrible show about a bunch of terrible entitled people. It is gross and a perfect picture of why other countries think we are disgusting.

Petty people that you won't care about them. A lot of zoom ins on characters like what he's going to say is some pretty sh**t important stuff. Don't waste your time with this.

I saw the reviews and thought it would be great. It's not. If you like watching a family that hates each other and loves to degrade each other - this is the show for you. It is vulgar, depressing and hateful.

Succession is based on a family business and hierarchy but in reality there is NO business being performed!
I just don't understand how this show received awards! Yes, the cast is great and some of the storylines are ok but the basis of the show doesn't exist!
The family does absolutely no business, they just sit in their respective offices, occasionally seem to do something to run the business but definitely don't work. I wish there was more actual business involved instead of the lot of them dealing with personal stuff 99.9% of the time.
Am I the only one bewildered with the complete lack of professional behaviour and absence of any legitimate management of a company in this show! Yes, they occasionally discuss takeovers etc. but none of these discussions make any sense!
Viewers are supposed to believe running a business doesn't involve any business acumen or involvement!

This is the exact opposite of Billions, as show that is creative with amazing actors and a good plot and story with twists.
Succession is good at showing off some amazing sets and vacation places for the rich but that's about it. Almost every scene without the main actor Brian Cox is like pulling teeth. "Uhh, no you go ahead. Uhh Ok. I was thinking. No, you go, you were thinking? Cause I was thinking."
Absolute trash dialogue over and over again. Tom and Shiv, Tom and Greg. Kendall and Roman. All of their scenes are basically written as two kids talking, no one really says anything. All filler.
After grinding through 2 seasons of this waiting for some sort of action or anything of value, I've had to tap out. There is not one scene where anyone does anything that would actually make you believe that they are involved with business. So extremely shallow, and the characters are mostly talking for 3 minutes and we are to believe that they had a meaningful meeting.
It's almost a parody. Not one person is written to have the skills to do the job that they are doing. Greg is a bumbling idiot that is painful to watch and provides not a single piece of value to the show. Entirely for comedic relief. Tom is a clown. The Culkin actor is just painful to watch in every scene he is in as he just babbles nonsense.
Sure it's supposed to be about spoiled rich kids fighting for the estate. But to make every single character completely trash isn't going to sell the series.
As of Dec 2021, it's rated a 8.7/10 with 30k votes for 9 stars and 30k votes for 10 stars. GTFO. Heavily shilled to all hell. Over 700 ratings, tons of 10 stars. All 10 star ratings are heavily upvoted by the hundreds as being helpful even though they say a one sentence Awesome show. How the hell is that helpful? Tons of reviews from accounts with less than 3 reviews. IMDB has just let the flood gate wide open on this series.

Just shallow, no resemblance to how a company runs, but worst of all the characters are just stupid and borderline ridiculous. Disappointing. The writers have never worked in a large corporation and have no idea how a company works, or even how people would talk.

Every family member is stereotypically obvious. The desperate yet impotent (overacted) heir apparent. The prodigal Culkin buffoon. The non-confrontational zen eldest son. Finally, the even tempered, fair-haired sister who sits slightly outside the family business. How could I forget, the megalomaniacal, unloveable CEO patriarch. Wow...how original? I gave this first episode, which is all I will ever watch, a 2/10 because of the cast assemblage. I have no idea what to make of the Aspie cousin Greg, and the insecure, kiss-ass son in-law, who laughs way to easy at daddy's quips. I expect more from an HBO project. Just a thought...bring David Mamet or Aaron Sorkin into mid-season writing sessions, and suggest that all the male cast members stop overacting, maybe then the series will have a second season. I'll give one million dollars for this to happen.

The premise of this show is just so good. Relevant, topical. But the scriptwriters should be fired. Is "F### off" the only expletive they know? And why does almost every dialogue have to start with "I mean....". Once you hear it, you can't unhear.... I don't know if it's bad writing, bad acting or bad directing but the love affair of the award-givers with this show is bewildering.

Horrible people all treating each other like rubbish. Circling the old man for whatever they can get. Nasty characters, written poorly and not acted that brilliantly either. It really is terrible!

Dialogue is ridiculous. Who talks like that? No one talks like that. The writers have made the actors look like idiots. Could have been a very good series if not for the dialogue. Sorry, but not at all realistic. At 70 years old, I can honestly say that I have never heard or observed anyone behaving in that manner. Stupid.

What a shame. I loved the first few episodes. I stopped watching after episode 6 because it was so badly written. The vote scene was so obscenely idiotic. I've never experienced myself snapping out of being immersed into a fictional reality so dramatically. It dawned on me that this show would ultimately be a massive waste of my time, just another emotionally manipulative series designed to "hook" viewers rather than provide anything of actual substance. I know from that episode alone that this show will have a disappointing finale, that none of the characters will go through interesting arcs, and that when it ends i will never think about it again. At least, leaving it like this, I might occasionally remember how great the first few episodes were, and think about some of the things it made me think about.

F Bombs at every other sentence, extremely over used and unrealistic. The repetitive use of F Bombs made the show unwatchable, which is really too bad, because otherwise I would have enjoyed watching.

One of the most boring shows ever. Ugly colors, stupid and not funny, boring and depressing. Been recommended it by a couple of people and reviews supported, but after three episodes I'm left wondering how long of a time I need to give it before it stops feeling like time wasted. I quit!

Started watching this based off the reviews and I just cannot get past how incredibly BORING this show is, made it past season 1 and some of season 2 literally forcing myself to watch it saying it has to get better.. it doesn't.
