The movie had only punchlines and slo-mo action.
Whole movie is narrated by a character, it was never shown from the character's POV. There was action for every 10 mins.
Movie heavily relied on background score and dialogs, no acting. There were no normal movements.

KGF is a One-Time Watch. KGF is a Fine Example of Marketing Strength in Film Industry. A Young Boy wants to be Rich & his Journey from Childhood to KGF (Gold Mine) is traced in Part 1. Lots of Characters, Lot of Production Budget, Lots of Style Yet IMDb Rating of 8.2. Shows how Manipulative & Powerful is Today's Digital World.
Putting in Perspective, 1. Lead Actor: Honestly, If Growing Hair & Beard is Acting, then Sure "Yash Acting Was Superb". But, Yash was Stylish. That's the end !!! There wasn't much Acting required by Yash as was Style & Yash delivers on Style. 2. Actress & Songs: Actress are mere Audience Demand & Actor Ego Display in most Indian Movies & KGF isn't any Exception. The Lead Actress has no sense of Acting & it doesn't take a Drunkard to impress a High Society Girl as the Drunkard can beat 50 People without any scratch & has a "Sad" Backstory. Songs are placed for Style & does nothing to the Movie. 3. StoryLine: Almost Nil. Just enough Points to have sufficient Songs & Fight Scenes for Yash to engage in Style, Sorry Acting. 4. Production: High. Like Prabhas's Saaho, Money wasn't a concern & Production Values reflect Money Well Spent. 5. Direction: Good. Along with Production Values, Direction was directed towards Style. 6. Practicality: Zero. Fight Scenes & 1 Guy getting no Bullets yet his Bullets hitting many & Typical Macho Fight Scenes.
KGF is Overrated at 8.2 in IMDb. Reminds me of Saaho yet KGF is a Gold Mine as compared to Saaho, which was a Disaster. 1 Time Watch & Entertaining.

Film is good to watch once, as it seems same formula kind of one. Few portions of the movie are highly Appreciable, full credit to Director. As character Name Rocky Bhai (Rocky Bhai) apt for the role and he Rocked it. Highly Exaggerated chapter 1 & Over hyped for Chapter 2.

Initially my feelings were that this is NOT a movie! It is basically a 2 hour showreel for the actor Yash or a really long Trailer for KGF 2.. but it grew on me specialy after watching part 2.
It has its logical flaws but cant complain when the acting, cinematography, music and most importantly editing is outstanding.

Typical indian superhero action movie where no bullet can touch him but he kills everything he touches. Action scenes are alright not great not bad too many cuts in between action scenes and extreme over the top action, the person is basically a superhero who is untouchable; you can't even get a scratch on him; he appears to be god himself. Wasn't impressed watching this movie. Plot is not that interesting just a typical superhero gangster flick where the good guy beats the bad guy. I watched RRR right before this and that movie is ten times better than this. This is just an avg movie. 6/10.

When I first encountered the trailer I started comparing it with Gangs of Wasseypur. The reason was there it was story started with coal mines and here Gold mines were mentioned.
After watching the movie however I got to know K.G.F. to be a kind of different movie. A movie based on a hero (or a villain).
Here in the first installment, what I liked most was the mother - child take on relation between them. It shook's your emotions on more than one instance. I also liked Rocky's character may it be as a child or as an adult. The other thing that followed my liking was the story, the way how it avoided being goofy.
Final Verdict: It would not be wrong if I say it a kind of story telling like in Bahubali. It is that good even with comparatively low budget. If that's the reason for you to watch Bahubali go and watch this one as well.

Overhyped Kannada epic film with no plot structure and weak character beats. Prashanth Neel tried to recreate Mahabharata but almost every technical departments were over-the-top for little reasons. Still hoping the sequel will do justice for Yash's journey.
Was expecting too much... How can such a movie with no meaning and purpose for the almost the whole movie be so overrated?? The characters had no depth at all... This movie felt so childish and not any child(only teenaged boys) A movie that is 2,5h long had no damn plot, as if they were pushed into the movie with no scenario. The whole movie was about Rocky getting "aura", no talking, no plot just a damn grown man posing like a teenage lol.
Even the love story was boring! It seemed as if a kid saw a toy in the store and was crying for his mother to buy it! No emotions, no communication, no da*n feelings that makes you want to see more even...
The only thing that made me rate it 6/10 was the last 30-40 minutes of the story and some action scenes (even thought it wasn't for Rocky who still was silent under that time too) but for the whole idea of the city.

Super high effort cinematography. Impressive visuals with an insane number of shots. When a character describes something that happened in the past there is a separate shot which visualizes each spoken sentence. The amount of work that must have gone into this is staggering.
While the production is high effort, the English translation is anything but. The first half of the movie is a narrative mess, and this is greatly exacerbated by a weak translation. The result is that it's often unclear who the villain is or why we should care. The translation is also marred by typos and awkward phrases. This movie could have been a 7 or maybe even an 8 with an excellent translation.

Gave it a watch for the first time since it's release way bck in 2018,watched aftr seeing so much of hype. KGF 1 is a decent Action film that has a good storyline to portray bt then a bit gets sidelined due to not placing of some scenes properly (Note I still haven't wchd KGF 2) which creates a bit of a confusion. Yash acts well and gets the character rightly, srinidhi shetty has a vry small role and she's okay, the actress playing the mother's role is heart touching and is decent. The storyline begins up nicely bt then at some point it became confusing fr me though it's vry attention catching and grabs yr mind. I rate KGF 1 a 6.7/10 starz starz hoping fr the 2nd part to be nice and not confusing direction.

I am not into into movies of this genre ( specially the dubbed ones) but I was curious to see this movie after the huge success of KGF 2 nowadays. The movie correctly represents what the Indian masses want and they are in multitudes. The premise of the movie is age old with a protagonist who is larger than life and who rises from the bottom to obliterate the bad guys and deliver justice which the system has not been able to. Reminded me of "Deewar" (you have the sick mother and the boy polishing shoes). When he grows up he is now a paid assassin and contract killer Rocky with almost half of his face covered all the time. The villains are extremely nasty, cruel and the hero is honest, determined, powerful while the oppressed are downtrodden, extremely weak, famished and poor. This makes the situation favourable for conflict and pitched violence. There is some high decibel screaming, wailing, killing, explosion and destruction all in your face. ( I have a feeling that part 2 will have some more of the same with more intensity). All this for achieving power and accumulating gold. After bashing up the villains our hero is also quite a romantic guy mouthing suggestive one liners and innuendos to the haughty heroine. The style and swagger of the hero Yash is probably majorly responsible for the success of this movie. The huge colliery which forms the backdrop is indeed awe inspiring. The cinematography is excellent. A number of crowd scenes with night effect have been done skillfully. The editing of majority of the the movie adopts a unique style using a huge number 2 to 3 second shots stitched together which is quite a strain. The movie therefore has a large number of shots. The sound and the visual effects are in plenty and they are mind numbing. The acting is of the hamming type. Probably no one can be blamed since the production is designed that way. In any case the masses have loved the movie and the producers have laughed all the way to the bank. That is all that matters.

Cinematography and direction is pretty good but the story is pretty same old story with the invincible Hero which no one can defeat and there is lots of slow motion and useless dialogues.
The movie is overhyped and overrated that's all there is.

I don't often see south Indian films, but this was better than many southies like kabali and all. BUT STILL NOT WORTH THE HYPE. There were some moments where I felt like clapping and hooting but there are numerous scenes where I think director was running faster than a bullet train.. what is the problem with south Indian films?? Why they are in such a hurry?? In 1st half I wanted to leave the theatre bcoz I just didn't got a single Idea about the story.. last 45minutes saves the film and of course "YASH" this film is just because of you.. absolutely phenomenal actor and that beard look is lit..

All effort to make a good movie seems to have lost with a unflinching desire to create improbable action scenes. Albeit a watchable fare which doesn't slow down till the end. Background score is irritably too loud. Background and action scenes should have been more meaningful.
I think this is little bit over rated. There is nothing special except good cinematography. It's like one of one man army movies which breaks every laws of physics & reality. If you are looking for a movie don't waste time on these kinds of movies. After watching I thought it just killed my time. Not worth the time. There are better ones

When you watch with no expectations, you start liking the film. The intro scenes are energetic and gripping. But, after Yash's entry, it starts to get cringe. Yash's interactions with his love interest are even more cringey. The fight scenes of the second half are better. I can't speak of acting as I genuinely can't make out between good and bad acting (unless it is extraordinarily good or bad; neither is that of kgf actors), but as some critics pointed out, they all gave their best. Production values are good, maybe above average. No doubt, the background scores are such a hit. Overall, it is a good film but too much hyped. For mass audiences who just want fun, this one is great.

I have to say that the film is really good and better than what we expect from regular stars. The film is really good with its cinematography and panache. But what about the cliche moments, the fake love story and anti physics action, the film have its style and we have to praise it, but what about its drawbacks. The love story seems very fake and the pitch perfect hero is really cliche to have. The lead actress describes her hero and I was feeling embarrassed on that scene. The action seems not so good, but the cinematography comes with a plus point in this one. The film is a really great entertainment and should have been watched on the screen, but it is not the greatest film india ever produced.
So I am explaining it to you now why you all are being crazy like this. What we do when we are fed up with the daily hostel meal, and only one day you went home to find that your mom made the meal which you don't really like or semi-like, you would eat that and definitely that would be the finest meal you had in a while.

Good music and cinematography but dont understand great reviews about this movie. There is just a strong guy beating bad guys constantly till the time it becomes boring. And so many villains just there are bad guys every where🙄.i had watched in hindi and i dont know there is no feel because we cant even hear actors real voice
KGF seems to have good story-line and most actors have done good job. However, I can't help but draw parallels to Bahubali which had the same theme. Opressuve ruler in an inaccesible palace assailed by a lone warrior with story progression in flash backs.
However, unlike Bahubali, KGF lacks the finesse, specially in the editing department. Very jumpy cuts between scenes. Too many characters in plat but literally zero cracter development. Story progression is not only nonlinear but chppy too. I do not want to put spoilers, hence cannot give examples.
Leaves a lot to reserve.

It is a decent movie, but it is definitely overrated. One of few reasons this movie did so good was because of the plot. It has everything Indian audience demands, be it the Mafia, the excellent dialogues or intense action. The action scenes, no doubt, are great. If we ignore some of the exaggerated action scenes which are usually there in South Indian movies, it is perfect. Yash has definitely done a remarkable role as Rocky.
The downsides, however are that there are a lot of unnecessary scenes, which causes the viewer to disconnect from the movie. Now, it wouldn't have been much of a problem, but the fact that the main story itself is so extremely long, the movie could have been explained much better if some of those non essential scenes didn't make it to the final cut.
This, along with some more smaller issues, makes the story haphazard sometimes, and leads to getting the viewer confused as to what is actually going on.

I had much expectations from this film but it turned out to be like the rest of south indian fillms. Auction sequence tht dosent make sense. Cram as much possible back story in as minimum time possible. Big let down for me
