The Virgin Suicides is a very strange film. It tells a deeply tragic and unsettling story in a way that feels almost too natural, like a teen drama - when in truth, it's anything but. It's heavy, haunting, and brutally real, trying to open your eyes to the weight of adolescent pain, yet it floats by without offering clear answers. You know how it ends from the title alone, and the opening lines confirm it - yet there's an inescapable sense of doom that builds throughout. And when the ending finally hits, despite expecting it all along, you're not even remotely ready. Quiet, devastating, and unforgettable.
I already knew American Beauty was a great film, but I didn't expect to love it this much. It's absolutely stunning - a masterpiece that pulls you in emotionally, making you deeply care for some characters while absolutely despising others. The plot twists are brilliant, timed perfectly, and the finale is breathtaking. Even though, the movie tells you from the start how it ends, it still manages to surprise you in the most powerful way. It's that rare kind of film that feels complete, clever, and emotionally raw all at once. I can't believe I waited this long to watch it. A true cinematic gem.
28 Days Later is a true classic of zombie cinema - a perfect example of how this genre can be done right. While the plot revolves around a zombie outbreak, the real challenges the characters face go far beyond the undead. The film dives deep into human nature, survival, and moral dilemmas, proving that a good story doesn't need flashy effects to be powerful. It also stands as proof that with a modest budget, you can create something truly impactful. As I often say: a sheet of paper, a pen, and a brain are all it takes to write a compelling story - and this film fully embraces that philosophy, delivering tension, emotion, and depth with remarkable effectiveness.
