I am not a big Marvel or Superhero fan but I do like a fun action flick.

I kind of knew who most of these characters were but it didn't seem to matter too much as they were quite simple.

I quite liked the action and the pithy quips that go along with the in-fighting.

The antagonist was interesting and vibrant.

This was mostly good fun - but the whole mental health element overshadowed everything - pretty much like a big black cloud.

This was the central theme and it worked for a while but soon it started to get annoying.

About every fifth line of dialogue is so heavy with psychiatric menace that the fun quickly drained from this.

Just like the adverts on the TV every character says they are "fine" when they clearly aren't. So, the other character gives them "the talk"

In total it was pretty good fun but I doubt I would watch it again.

A woman let's some teenagers use her basement to party.

This has quite low stakes and things are pretty pedestrian - but there is an underlying tensions as each side starts to push boundaries.

The young actors are pretty good but Octavia is absolutely amazing here.

There is a great build up and a lot of the time it is hard to decide who you are worried about.

The teenagers take advantage of this lonely older lady's hospitality: the girls are especially cruel.

But it is clear that there is something not quite right with Ma.

This goes on with a fair amount of anxiety and teen drama - until it all comes to a head.

This is where it all falls down.

Up until now everything has been quite grounded and could feasibly have been a documentary. But now we go full on horror and it is all quite rushed and dumb.

A tame ending would have been a disappointment but this upscale one is just dumb and made me feel the film was a waste of time.

Nick decides to higher a lawyer (Susan) to sue a dating app because it didn't find him true love.

This is a classic setup. Both leads are inhumanly attractive, and Susan (for no reason) takes an instant dislike to Nick but has to take his case as she is struggling financially on account of altruism to the needy.

Sparks fly between the two and Susan slowly realises that Nick is the perfect guy and Nick starts to realise that perhaps love was in the place he least expected.

If that sounds cliché and a little vomit inducing then yes. Welcome to the world of Rom-com and I thank the stars for this movie.

This is light, funny, uplifting and pithy - everything a rom-com should be.

The leads are great and the supporting characters throw in a slice of craziness.

There is nothing ground-breaking originally here and nothing is realistic - this is pure escapism.
