  • You're no buddy until some buddy loves you...

This most excellent movie provides the audience with one of the best American actors of today, Robert DeNiro, in a role that suits and excludes any other talent that may have been at first attached to this project. I have just now sat thru another viewing and at the now number of the 45th time I have watched this comedy/action flick, I am still amazed and happy that I have it in my collection of films. It's essence is still crystal clear and even without the use of cell phones and other 'technologically' correct apparatus never fails to entertain and appease our sense of two very different people on a journey towards Life...a communication between 'good guy, bad guy', and their trials and travails traveling together. And the fuzzy distinction of who actually is the good or bad guy. I love all Buddy movies, some that come to mind are "Beverly Hills Cop", "48 Hours", "Twins", Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man", "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"and "Thelma and Louise". If any of you have other titles that fit under 'buddy movies' please name them so that I might be able to watch any that I may have missed for they are a favorite of mine. Enjoy Life with a Buddy, it's the only way to go!!!

  • Wasted time, wasted film

Pretentious, pseudo-intellectual, pre-frontal foreplay without substance or passion. Wooden acting by all except, Robin Tunney, who displayed unusual adeptness for her characters' misunderstood, Zoe. Neve Campbell wasted here as a rather prim and prudish, librarian type and Dermot Melroney as the rather starched, disillusioned and distant group discussion leader. It was to be a critical expose on the fragility of the Male orgasm and all its unreasonable expectations. It missed. It made men out to bestial, carnivorous, exploratory and very misinformed about women's bodies. On that note it was right on the mark. But from the very nature of the questions asked in the film it was obvious that the filmmaker was only expressing his limited scope and hoping to get a generous amount of love and money for his attempts at honesty apparently since he could not get a date.

  • Spaceship Earth...

Where anything can happen. Well, almost, anyway. A man lost in desperation over money debt is given an offer to take a blue suitcase to the middle of the "Big Empty", (meaning desert) and in return receive his lifetime debts paid off. Along the way of course, are crazy characters to dot the landscape and create drama, and,in general stand in the way of this very simple deal to get rich quick or quirk in this very fanciful sci-fi send up(it may even be quark). While waiting to find out what is IN this blue suitcase, his neighbor is killed and his head put into a bowling bag, his favorite girl kidnapped and ransomed for same and the young life of Ruthie (played excellently by Rachel Leigh Cook) hangs in the balance due to bad dating standards. All in all, a very satisfying movie if you like strange. Remember, WE ARE NOT ALONE!

  • Worthless Trash....

Unbelievable that Meg Ryan would attach herself to this total declaration of true scumworks. My respect for everyone invovled in this effort (if, indeed, any was made)has been blown to bits. I highly UN-recomend this to anybody, including PERVERTS. There was not one thing enjoyable about this from the shaky camera to the ridiculous plot line and terrible character development(?). I cared nothing for any of the players and to think that they might be attempting to portray real people is just a joke. Nobody acts like this. Except perhaps the killer. Then it's any psychopaths guess. Please if you have any sanity at all listen carefully to my words, DO NOT WATCH THIS AT ANY COST, SAVE YOURSELVES, GO ON WITHOUT ME, I'VE ALREADY BEEN INJURED, I'LL ONLY SLOW YOU DOWN, KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Not Second hand stuff....

Pleasing fantasy with a great cast set at a time when that could have been...Duvall and Caine seemed to be having a grand old time in this family movie sided by Osment as their young and somewhat skeptical nephew, all looking for validation. They find a vast difference in their lives when they meet and actually begin what for all of them might be the first foray into actual responsibility for one's actions of love. When love is the meter of standard, then all of Life's choice's become clear. That is the essence of this movie. Great time for those interested in deep seated Moral Values with an edge of FUN on the side.

Good Movie & I hope there is more and more available like it! 9/10

  • Glossey Pictorial of a Man gone Mad with Revenge...

Classic storyline exceeding all my hopes with Peter O'Toole as a Man not to be toyed with under any circumstances. O'Toole's U-Boat and all his men are attacked mercilessly by their deadly enemy, he is the only survivor, with healing from his caring doctor he endeavors to strike back at his enemy by rebuilding an old submerged war plane to "make things right", he has plenty to do, as do the civilians on the island where he was healed. But his aim is a higher authority, a bullseye he must not miss. He uses any method necessary to attain his desire which he may or may not achieve. The use of revenge is not a new technique but this is a fresh revisit of the old standards of movie-making and the morals that was felt at the time. This movie has high production values and gives the audience plenty to rally around. Peter O'Toole has always been and still commands respect from his fellow actors and the people who watch him. 8 of 10*.

  • S.O.S. Is there anybody out there?

How can one judge another's Life? To say this movie was bad or good denies the Liver of that Life his rightful due. His rightful due is respect as he is a child of GOD as we are all. How would your Life story play on the BIG SCREEN? Would anyone watch? Radio is an amazing film portrayed by amazing actors and produced by a host of ridiculously talented and sensitive directors, playwrights and producers, if my Life were more interesting I'd pay them to do the making of it. Please, people stop your whining and get on with the business of your Life to make it as interesting and as wonderful as Radio did. He changed people's lives for the good can you say the same about yours?
