Definitely not a run of the mill thriller. Provocative, engaging and intelligent ..these are all the necessary ingredients this film needs to keep the viewer hooked from the first few frames.

Kristy Swanson spares no emotion from being expressed on the screen, running the gambit from sadness to anger and unbeguilingly gives fans and viewers the chance for her to show off her raw talent.

Very watchable and I am sure her strong character is a real inspiration to women everywhere....standing up for her self against seemingly insurmountable odds. Love to give a spoiler here but see it for your self. Recommended viewing.

Have a little chocolate with your popcorn with this film; would work well on a rainy rainy night...nice love scenes, too for Kristy woo hoo :)

Any serious movie goer is wrong not to write any review for this film and not pack it rife with positive adjectives and a few disclaimers for balance. As for my self personally, I find it hard to find anything not nice to say about this movie at all. One thing for sure are a few spots that seem irrelevant to anything as this movie seems to rely heavily on dialog throughout. That would have been a pity given the material the film makers have charged themselves with working with if it were not so smart,craft,witty and intelligent. As with art itself...the film begs the viewer to look just a little carefully below the surface. To challenge our traditional ways of viewing things. If you have a taste for nostalgia and penchant for paraphernalia for anything from the fifties this film is definitely for you. If you think American Graffitti is the only game in town for a solid re-creation of mood and spirit of the fifties then you are in for a surprise with this film. And a many surprises it does come with and hence its charm. Just when you think you have its all worked out to the end by guessing moves, up pops a surprise to keep you further involved. The joy of watching the story unfold and why it makes you smack your lips as its all told is it s sheer unpredictability. Not to mention nice acting all around. Julia Roberts shines and no conceit shows through in her own acting ability as she runs the gambit of displaying defeat,fear, surprise,pain,disappointment,shock, anger,vehemence. She gives a seamless performance. I could go on and on about the supporting cast but its suffice to say that with Julia on board at the helm, no cast member seemed to throw her performance off balance in any way. Outshine or look shallow or paltry by compare. The music is quite choice too with a subdued quality to the soundtrack that is not overbearing but sweetly a part of the storyboard but not too much to distract for too long. There are all sorts of miniature plots and story lines in this film that give it some strands of intricacy but its never too much to make it too convoluted or hard to follow and the the film has all sorts of undercurrents and major themes. Its a wonder they could compact so many so densely into one film so nicely. Don't miss Mona Lisa Smile.
