The best Scottish comedy since Rab C.... Every bit as good as The Royals.

Don't get the negative reviews? It is what it is, and for what it is... 'a low budget bloodbath revenge movie' it hits the mark. Well enough acted and decently paced. OK it might not be 'Citizen Kane' or 'The Whisperers', but if you're in the mood for a quick and to the point piece of violent retribution, then this movie fits the bill splendidly. 8/10 for me.

A Michelle Yeoh film has seldom let me down over the years, and 'Reign Of Assassins' is no exception. Quality, Style and competent direction all add up to make this a very enjoyable Wuxia offering. Apart from Yeoh's obligatory fine rendering, there are also solid performances from the rest of the well chosen cast,... particularly Jung Woo-Sung as 'the love interest with a surprise' , and from Wang Xueqi as 'the ever-so-slightly mad chief assassin' ..and main villain . All in all I really enjoyed this movie and would love to see a follow-up,... but sadly due to inexplicably-weak box office takings , I doubt that there will ever be a 'Reign Of Assassins 2'.... which is a real pity.

Low budget, no thrills zombie dystopia-horror, but well made and competently performed by all, perfectly paced and no unnecessary gore and cheap frills,... all in all, a very enjoyable watch. If your the type of viewer that liked the understated 'walking dead' type of movie such as 'Maggie' or 'Stake Land' then you'll likely enjoy 'Here Alone',... but if you're the type that prefers a lot more blood and gut-slashing , then I suggest something along the lines of 'Resident Evil' or another similar larger budget blockbuster. But for me personally , this one's just fine.
