The Perfect Man

Unfortunately, good actors put their name on projects a little too fast at times. First of all, this movie had to convince an audience that Jean (Heather Locklear) gets a knock at the door, takes two minutes to break up and then decides to move. The entire movie takes on a sick note of role reversal, and a young girl who learns odd behavior from watching her mother. Bravo to the actors and thumbs down to the filmers for making a movie that has baby boomer appeal because of Heather Locklear, teeny bopper appeal because of Hilary Duff, but is confusing!! WHO is this movie for?? What about Carson the hilarious gay and inviting bartender? Is my 10 year old daughter going to understand the nasty deception of Holly AND the gay humor? Great pieces of acting by all, but the storyline is weird. According to press, the story is about Jan and Heather Robinson. Heather Robinson is played by Hilary Duff. Heather Locklear plays the Mum Robinson. The studios must be getting a bit desperate. This one seemed like a pity date for writers and directors.

Weak, but sweet.

When the end credits appeared, I was still sitting on the couch in front of the TV, slightly smiling. Why, you ask? Well... I had been looking forward to seeing this for a long time, and I was a bit disappointed.

Carson Kressley stood out most, other characters were not that memorable. The main plot is actually not bad for a romantic comedy, there are quite a few things going on, and actresses try hard to make it work, but somehow it just doesn't work out. It's hard to tell, what went wrong. I found myself browsing through fresh newspapers on the table more than once during the film, it really wasn't enough to keep my attention only on screen. Things get better towards the ending and it cheered me up a bit.

It's not a bad film, but there are better out there. Don't try to analyze too much, and I guarantee that it will keep you entertained on rainy Sunday afternoon if you have a weak spot for chick-flicks.

Haven't I Seen This Before?

It's not a terrible flick, nor is it screaming Oscar. It is what it is, a Hillary Duff movie, Targeted a tweens and fans of her Disney TV show.

Hilary is her usual cute self as the daughter of a beautiful mother, Heather Locklear, who can't find the "Perfect Man". Heather Locklear can't find a man? Please. I really had to go brain dead to accept that and tried. It worked kinda.

Both Duff and Locklear do the best with what they can with the script, and give their usual TV performances in a big budget film.

"The Perfect Man" is as predictable as one would expect. But would have been better if it had been made as a TV movie. I don't expect a big box office returns.

But wait haven't I seen this before? Yes. It was called Mermaids, with Cher.

This is only for fans of Duff and Locklear...and squeaky clean family movies. Somewhere Walt Disney is smiling.

Crap

THE PERFECT MAN was really boring, uninteresting, unrealistic and had a storyline and characters that were two-dimensional. Also, the dialogue was extremely cheesy and the storyline had quite a few holes which spoiled the movie. Actually as a matter of fact, this movie was very soapy which was also another spoiler. Any film that's soapy containing actress Hilary Duff, is a real pain in the ass (no offense Hilary Duff, but those soapy films you're in are real shockers). I am not going to tell you the storyline because I kept tuning out because it was so unlikeable. If you were wondering why I even watched this movie, it's because I was at a party and my friends rented some pretty good films, but don't ask why one of my friends rented this one.

However, the two reasons why I'm saving this film from zero stars is because it did have some good jokes. But some does not mean a lot, that's for sure.

Overall, save your money and don't watch this.
