This movie was better then I expected. I like the diversity in the movie and I never expected it to be so funny. The acting was great and real. There are parts played by Hilary Duff that I would have never seen her play. Like the part when she dressed up like julia roberts(mini skirt and a push up bra haha) in order to get paperwork that she needed to solve the case. Haylie's role was good too very sassy and controlling. The guys were just perfect they were the cherry on the cake to make the movie perfect! No matter what the old guy critics say (which is just their opinion) this movie was really good and I recommend it! PLUs there's hilarious bloopers in the end!!! it was soo funny!

I always love Hilary's movies and this one is no exception!her and Haylie are great in it and Hilary shines again! Hilary shows she can act and has only gotten better with each movie she makes.

the storyline in it is good and has again great family values and good morals.

everyone will love it and need to see it. give Hilary and Hayley your support for this one.

and again Hilary has proved herself as to why she is my favorite actress.

Both girls are very into the part they play and knew there roles very well.

Overall the movie is great to take kids to they would enjoy it also.

I rate this movie as excellent, as it is a must see for all duff fans!!

Okay so every review i saw so far was this movie sucks or i wasted my money, and truth be told they are wrong. I saw this movie Sunday night, the 20, and i enjoyed the movie. I am a Hilary fan but ill be honest, the beginning was kinda boring, not completely. the funny parts of the movie didn't come up till the girls lose there money. and they are not childish jokes, they made a few references to sexual things, but it was one of those jokes where it could be two things, sexual or innocent, but unless you were older you wouldn't of gotten it.

The only part that bothered me was you could tell that they changed the lines. like you could look at Haylie's mouth and tell they changed the lines but didn't re-film the scenes. my guess is that they had more rude comments but they had to change the lines to get their PG rating, but thats the only part that bothered me.

All in all it was a good movie, not what your used to seeing Hilary play, there were a lot of adult lines and scenes to film. if you like Hilary and haylie you will like this film, if not just go see it, you may like it you may not. But remember, even if you hate Hilary and haylie and thats why you wont see it, they don't get the money for the film, the distributor does. so take and chance and see it, you may like it.

its a good movie they both can act and they are really good singers and if u cant except that they made something with there lives then quit hating on them its not like u even know that at all. what r u doing thats so good in r life that makes u good enough to say they suck well they don't anyways if u don't like hilary they y did u even go see the movie ever one should go see it its a great lesson in life and is great to watch and laugh. i just wanted to say this movie was a good one and keep doing what ur doing hilary and hailey ( i think i spelled it wrong) but I'm in a hurry. if u like the duffs then see this movie if u dotn then don't but if u r a hater and just want something to complain about then get of the site.

I usually cannot stand movies with bad acting. My mom loves them but I won't watch them with her. This movie was absolutely NOT as bad as people are saying. The story line was predictable, but aren't most of these girl movies? It's actually a cute movie and is funny at times. The acting isn't terrible, but not exactly Oscar-worthy. But wouldn't that be obvious, because most of the actors in this movie are not the best actors in Hollywood, but they're still good. If you're not into the girlie movies, then this is NOT for you. If you enjoy them, you'll absolutely LOVE this! I have it on DVD and still watch it every once in a while. I love this movie so much!

This movie was pretty good and is not as bad as everybody says it is. People are just really mean and take it out on Hilary or Haylie or whoever they don't like that is in it. I think this movie rocked yeah it was a little cheesy but it was funny. I personally think that the rating should have been pg 13 but it was still good. I think that Hilary and Haylie Duff are great actors and if you listened to the bonus material they say that they want the performance to come across as fake because that's how they thought the Marchetta sisters were. I think that it is a good movie maybe not for the age range they were shooting for but a good movie. Hilary and Haylie Duff tried their best to put on a great performance for everyone and I think that we should appreciate it. Overall I thought that Material Girls was a good movie because it had its funny parts and underneath it did have a lesson even if they might not have made it clear enough.

The reason Material Girls is #1 on this list is because people can't just accept that Hilary is a good person and they are basing there votes on who she is not how the movie was! If you don't like Hilary that is fine but don't drag her movies down because of how you feel. The movie was entertaining and was a lot of fun , it was definitely not one of the worst movies of all time!It may not be the greatest movie of all time but when expressing your discontent you don't have to be this mean.Everyone has there opinions and this is mine - this list is rude to all the people who took time and effort to make these films, even if they aren't the greatest ones.

Very funny, people have trashed this movie but the reality is it was really funny and entertaining......recommended by everyone i know. It is a great pick me up. Not a bad story line.... Everyone in the theater was laughing hysterically. Hilary and her sister look very pretty and the outfits are just great. People should stop trying to trash it and just enjoy it because it was really good.I know it hasn't opened everywhere yet so some people cant see it................I don't know what else to write but i need ten lines so you can stop reading now have a nice day ..................go see the movie ......you will love it very much! Friends don't let friends ride public transportation....thats from the trailer.

Forget all the bad reviews and read mine. I think that Material Girls is Finally Hilary Duff's breakthrough movie role. She did and excellent job in this movie . I encourage you all to see it so you can see for your selves how good it is. She finally is getting to where she belongs on Hollywood's fame chart as a well deserving young beautiful and talented actress. There are SO many aspects of this movie that make it a good movie that I just can describe them and you just need to see this move yourselves. Also Haylie Duff and Ajelica Houston make good actress choices for the roles that they play in this movie.

Material Girls is a really hilarious movie that I do recommend, 'cuase it's full of elements that will make u laugh a lot!

I don't see why most people think it's a horrible movie or most people don't recommend it, I mean, if you're bored and you want to have fun for a while, laugh a little and everything, it's a really good movie to watch, 'cause you'll do that!

Anyways, I do think the story it's not that original, but still, it's really good!!! It's the classic movie where the girls were rich and then they become poor, and that's why most of the people think it's horrible, but I think that actually it's really cool, 'cuase most of the people still thinks that money brings happiness, when it doesn't, it just brings fake happiness

Okay, so there's this movie out called "Material Girls," right? Now that Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan have become more than just actresses (they have released CDs at some point), many people, as evidenced here at IMDb, think that this movie is a big turkey, right?

Actually, I think it's great!!!!!

"Material Girls" may not be like a Madonna type of film (she sang a song with the same name back in the 80s), but it's good! Even though I am a man, I, too, have a heart for this young duo of Duff and Lohan. Everything in this film got me excited; the story was great, the scenes are funny and heartwarming, and it's just about everything I would expect from these two ladies (who are about my age, BTW; they're just starting out on this acting craze! Psh, won't be long before we see crazy stories about them at the supermarket! LOL)

"Material Girls" is a great movie not just for old girls and young women, but old boys and young girls as well!!!!! Go see it; you won't regret it.

this film was the best and i totally disagree with the comments made. Example:that Hilary duff and hay lie duff are't good actresses as they are and you know it. Also i disagree with the fact that it is rubbish but likable and excuse me but it is very hard to act with people telling you that your movie is rubbish. so appreciate the work that they put into making entertainment better for you.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was a good clean movie. It was great to take my 10 year old to see; girl empowering. Let's encourage our girls that they don't have to sit back and take what the world has to give them. They can change their own lives and the lives of others in a positive way. I recommend anyone with daughters age 5 and up to take your girls. We had lots of fun, and it gave us something to discuss on the way home in the car. It was one of the few movies that doesn't have hidden adult themes to them. Hilary Duff is a good role model for the tweens. As long as she remains of good quality, I will continue to take my daughter to see her movies, buy her cds, and go to her concerts (3 so far).

Well i have seen the movie.... AND I DUNNO WHAT YOU PEOPLE ARE MOANING ABOUT !!! THIS IS LIKE THE BEST MOVIE EVER !!! you probably all don't know what real comedy is....cause i was cracking myself up when Tanzie ( Hilary Duff ) was talking about her private investigator shoes...and started dancing...THAT MY PEOPLE...: IS TOTALLY TRUE COMEDY !!! ORwhen Ava ( Haylie Duff ) falls in the dumpster !!! Or when Tanzie says "Who do you think i am a gang banger ??? THAT IS TOTALLY THE BEST COMEDY...so you better open your eyes the next time !!! CAUSE MATERIAL GIRLS IS LIKE THE BEST COMEDY EVER MADE !!!! SO DON"T SAY IT'S BAD !!! This movie is totally DUFFALICIOUS !!! -xxx-PEACE

This is an amazing movie that talks about the lives of actual celebrities. It is definitely a MUST SEE. Buy the DVD today!! Hilary and Haylie look gorgeous, as usual and they perform everything really well. I love them! There are also two Oscar-winner stars playing in it, so why not? Its a beautiful, colorful, exciting, heart-warming, adventurous comedy which is great for families, girls, guys and especially dates. The movie is filled with non-stop action and amazing swings that keeps you guessing until the very end. Little summary: Two wealthy sisters, both heiresses to their family's cosmetics fortune, are given a wake-up call when a scandal and ensuing investigation strip them of their wealth. See you there!

Maybe it's just me but I honestly loved the movie! I am a huge fan of Hilary Duff. And have seen almost every movie she has played in! Yes her sister may not be that great of an actress but apparently Hilary Duff is if everyone keeps coming back for more. So I give this movie a total two thumbs up! Sure it may have had some rude comments in it but that's what the movie was about. Two rich girls who were discovering that there is more to life then money, clothes, and shopping. That there was family, love and friendship. I honestly think you all should focus more on the moral of the story than on the acting or the words. There are a lot of movies out there that have poor acting but are considered classics.

Material Girls was a great movie. It was hilarious and very entertaining and I don't laugh very easily. I highly recommend it for all girls and guys who don't mind a chick-flick. Hilary and Haley Duff played their parts magnificently. They make a great duo. It was like the movie Cow Bells on Disney Channel but better. It kept my attention and left me wanting to see it again. I do not, however, recommend the movie to children 10 and under. A lot of cleavage was shown at parts and words were used that children under 10 don't need to hear. It will make a great present for any girl teen or pre-teen in your life. I loved it.

I totally love this movie, both of the girls, Hilary and Haylie, are playing perfectly and they both are so pretty. The story is kind of fun and I laugh so many times ! It's just the perfect movie for girls aged between 11 and 19. It shows how girls should or shouldn't act in real life. The actors in Material Girls are just amazing. Hilary Duff was my favorite,and she always is. She acts really good. Haylie Duff is really pretty. I'm not a big fan of hers, but she appears to be a very mature girl. The way they both dressed was really cool. Their outfits were just awesome ! For me, Material Girls is a success, and I think that the actresses should be reward for their great job ! I think Martha chose the perfect characters for her movie.

people are dumb when they said this suck! i loved this movie, yeah OK we have to admit it missed out on something like it doesn't show any city or something it doesn't look like it is the real world, many of the things in the movie look like a TV show not like a movie but even though that i love it.

it shows you that in life what counts is yourself and your attitude not your money or who your parents are, you build up your own destiny, i mean like in the movie your parents are not gonna be always there to solve your problems and sometimes you got to solve your problems and move on! specially the thing i love about this movie is that the duff's are together and thats a plus! the only bad thing is that no counting them, the movie doesn't have famous talent (not talking about Angelica Huston) and thats bad cause being the duff's they need to be with popular stars of the moment but please don't listen to critics and watch this amazing movie!

I have not seen this movie yet, but I think that it will be really good. I have never seen a movie with Hailie Duff in it so I think that if it has them as sisters in it it should be really good. I am so excited about seeing this but based upon reviews, should I even spend the money to rent it? Is it really that bad? Well, I think it will be good and I am going to rent it today! Who cares about what everyone else thinks about it. She is my favorite actress and I think it will be really good if her sister is in it too. There is one thing though that I don't think that could be good about this movie. Halie Duff hasn't acted very much before, I know that Hilary is going to be good because she has been in a lot of things before.

I don't have anything against Hailie but I just don't think that she will be as good in this as another experienced actress would be. I heard once that Hailie went to Los Angelos to try in get started in an acting career and that they saw Hirary as a better actress instead and that is how she got started. Hailie never went anywhere really as far as an acting career but her sister did so now Hailie is kinda taking advantage of Hilary's career. I think that she is just trying to use Hilary as a way for her to try and get famous again. I don't think it is going to work though. That's just what I think.
