Too little Idea for a series

The Pilot for this show would of made a good movie, but it just doesn't have the substance for a series. The humour is patchy at best mainly left to Adam Baldwin to hold on his own, most of the other character feel like 2 dimensional stock characters at best, and other than Baldwin none of the main cast really seem to try. since the pilot the plot has essentially been the same week to week and at this earlier stage to have already got dull and repetitive is surely a bad sign this earlier into its first season. the fact that it doesn't really drive on characters or plot, is probably down to bad writing, so it possible that with a new writing staff and some slight reformatting/recasting this could be good. To be honest i doubt there be a series 2 of Chuck i won't probably watch next week.

Too Repetitive

After watching the first episode I thought this show had potential of being pretty damn good. Decent storyline and Zachary Levi is a funny guy. As the episodes went by, I found it became old fast, and also quite repetitive. There's a bad guy; They go looking for the bad guy; They capture the bad guy And that's basically how every episode goes. Sure it has it's funny moments but there's a lot funnier out there. I struggled to finish the first season and I ended up only watching up to episode eleven, the show just didn't keep the suspense. If you're looking for a really funny TV series I recommend trying Eastbound and Down.

You have to be kidding me?

Come on. Who are these people and what kind of story do we have here? Are these a bunch of "Teen Choice" stars with some hot chick to drag in the guys in a ridiculous story about some guy who fills his head with info from an e-mail?

Yes, I tuned in to see the two geek shows and I am sorry I gave up Dancing with the Stars for this. By the way, the other geek show was far superior.

Fans of Big Momma's Houe 2 or Saved by the Bell may be satisfied, but they will have to continue to parade hot chicks through this disaster to keep up a viewer-ship.

I like it.

Zackary LEVI is enough to make me watch. But why does any American show have to have the resident idiot.? There is always at least one, and it drives me mad. Morgan is a complete waste of space.

If I was a teenage girl I might really like this

The main character, Chuck, is a cute but entirely insipid buffoon who gets to make trite statements like "I don't like guns" and "The most important thing to me is family" numerous times in every episode. Apparently he's a comedian whose schtick is acting like an 8th grader.

His "partner", Sarah, is an attractive highly trained CIA assassin who is officially Chuck's handler with a standard cover of being his girlfriend and of course, hijinks ensue ... exactly copying every teen angst romance you've ever seen.

Chuck's best friend is Morgan, the comic relief whose schtick is acting like a 6th grader. In his hours of facetime throughout the series this character is interesting for about 5 minutes.

Two or three more buffoons make regular appearances as well as a host of more serious characters creating a strange brew that can be easily followed while simultaneously playing Mah Jong or some such.

The concept, however, remains intriguing and as much as 50% of the dialog isn't a complete insult to my intelligence.

While I don't smoke, I would recommend copious amounts of marijuana (where legal) in order to better facilitate the willful suspension of disbelief ... or if you're really serious about enjoying this, a lobotomy might be helpful as well.

First Season is good, downhill from there

I watched season one again the last days and quite enjoyed it. After that it sadly goes downhill. The whole back and forth love thing is just exhausting at that point. Also I cant stand Larkin. I love the actor but the role is just annoying. I mainly still watch because of Casey. But they really should have stopped after season 1. Sometimes less is more.

Spies, spies everywhere!

The premise was hardly new, but still somewhat interesting, for a while.

Your Average TV Nerd (who is a projection of what writers think real nerds/geeks are) somehow gets involved with NSA, CIA etc.

Cue the usual "fish out of water" comedy bits about a hopeless guy dealing with life-threatening situations in a clumsy but surprisingly effective and successful way. All of that with the help of the token Hot Chick, who quickly becomes his love interest, and of a hardened veteran who may or may not be fond of our little cute spy anyway.

Things go definitely downhill as seasons go by, with more and more regular people becoming involved, and by the final season almost every single character is a spy or at least a supporter.

Needless to say, such incremental growth of the amount of actual spies in the show kills the whole premise... Once the "average Chuck" has turned into a skilled intelligence agent, what's the point in watching?

For the hackneyed love story with Sarah? For the convoluted web of spying relationships all across the board?

Not really, and indeed the show's quality has declined sharply. Not that the beginning was that great either, but at least it was sort of funny to follow Chuck threading the water in his newfound "career".

Immoral Episode Spoiled Everything

Season 4, Episode 24 (Chuck Versus the Cliffhanger). In this episode, Chuck wants to save his fiancé, Sarah. However, a nasty and mean CIA boss does not let him do that. Chuck is nearly arrested by the CIA men. And "the day is saved" by Russian special forces. Here is my feedback to the screenwriter: a) I have lived in Russia, I have lived in Georgia (Russia's neighbor country); b) Russian special forces have Never done anything good in the entire Russian History! Russian military and special forces have always stood on the wrong side of history (I guess the only exception might be 1941-1945, because Hitler's Nazis were as bad as Stalin's Communists); c) This episode is wrong! You should not make bad guys look good, even in fiction!
