- Joel Miller: I know. Anyway, that was 30 minutes ago, and I guess you deserve a choice. I still think you'd be better off with Tommy...
- Ellie Williams: [Shoves her duffle bag at Joel] Let's go.
- Joel Miller: So, uh, communism.
- Tommy Miller: Nah. Nah, It ain't like that.
- Maria: It is that. Literally. This is a commune. We're communists.
- Joel Miller: We're somewhere here. Exactly where? And your answer better be the same as your wife's.
- Marlon: Did you tell him the truth?
- Florence: Yeah.
- Marlon: Are you tellin' ME the truth?
- Florence: Yeah...
- Maria: [to Ellie] There's a whole lot you're not telling me. Good. Therein lies the point. Be careful who you put your faith in. The only people who can betray us... are the ones we trust.
- Ellie Williams: So let's go and find Tommy and the fireflies. It's gonna be easy. All we have to do is cross the river of death.

- Florence: We get those in the summer.
