Karma Yodha

The stance I had while entering the theater got drastically changed, metamorphosed (into bad) and ricocheted back into a very demeaning, ennui-ridden para-mental state I found myself in when I watched Mammootty's Face2Face, 2013's Romans, Lal's Scene Onnu... & Mammooty's Kamath.

This film takes up a hot topic & makes a gimmick out of it. With frivolous characters, mindless lead character and utterly rubbish storyline, Mohanlal has once again succeeded in disappointing me after RBR & Spirit.

While the music is heavily plagiarized, the direction is not very good who concentrated more into his useless cameo, screenplay is like they have tried to go Tarantino, but failed. You need to be focused enough into it, if you really want to understand the plot which could've been easily narrated in 20 minutes.

With Mumbai police flanked by Malayalam-speaking men, thousands of unanswered plot trips, coughing up sub-topics and deviating from its lead subject, Karmayodha is a very poor entertainer. The dialogs (with more beeps than ever) are clichéd and well, Lal & the vindictive villains have performed well. But, that is not what Cinema is all about.

BOTTOM LINE: Not recommended even if you are a Lal fan like me.

Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES

I just saw this movie recently and boy was it a killer to watch. Lalettan looks very ugly in this movie with his beard and hairstyle combined and the plotline is very nerve wrecking. Too much explicit content of teenage girls being treated like animals by being put in various cargo trucks and money is a very dangerous thing in this movie also. To top it all, the storyline deals with sex trafficking which is absolutely cringe and I highly don't recommend this nightmare of a Lalettan movie. I'd rather watch Lalettan flop films like Sadayam as it's more emotional and easirer to empathize with. YIKES YIKES YIKES is what I'm gonna say. Sadayam does a far better job at why sex trafficking is terrible than this brain killer. Lalettan's character Madhavan Menon is someone you'll fear and his tough guy persona is rather scary in this movie as opposed to his tough guy persona in movies like Spadikam, Aaram Thampuran, Ravanaprabhu, Natturajavu, Alibhai and Twenty 20. The way Lalettan's character Madhavan AKA 'Mad Maddy' interrogates people about the case sends chills down my back as he does in using brute force. One scene I find the most terryfing is where Madhavan forcefully interrogates a young woman by holding her at gunpoint. I've seen better Lalettan movies and there are better 2012 movies like the Dileep starrers Mr Marumakan and My Boss. Khais Kanna is just a psychotic villain who obviously has a mental illness. I think I've made my point.
