    Fun movie

This is a movie that will particularly appeal to Australians given its cast and setting ___location. The story is somewhat shallow but it's a fun movie. I think too many times people go to a movie and expect every movie to be a blockbuster. This is certainly not but it's a great date night flick for middle-aged couples glimpse ahead to what life may be like when your mind and body starts to fail. The movie generally is respectful of the ageing population but at the same time highlights the comical moments as well.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but a good time waster.

I took my Grandmother to this film and she had a good chuckle with it. There are a few issues with it. Some pacing problems and logic regarding how nursing homes actually operate come to mind. However it was tender enough and the performances were solid. Jack Thompson actually shined and deserves more comedy roles. It might not be anything memorable (no pun intended) but it is a good way to waste a few hours on a Sunday afternoon.

    Getting old sucks

Mostly funny with some depression parts. Makes you never want to get old in Australia.

Recommended for anyone who remembers the 1960s.

Never Too Late - Reactions to this movie were mixed, so my expectations weren't high. However, I'm with those who really liked the movie. The first 15 minutes were outstanding. The pace did slow for a while but overall the movie was funny, moving and contained some great music from the 60s, which is ideal for the target audience. The acting is top notch and, while the storyline is a stretch, that's what makes for some great humour. Recommended for anyone who remembers the 1960s and the music of that era - and for anyone who enjoys great acting and humour.

    Best Aussie Comedy for 2020

Finally the best Aussie Comedy for 2020 has arrived! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll sigh! How good is this cast for starters? Academy Award nominees James Cromwell and Jacki Weaver head a strong cast in this hilarious and feisty film about four grumpy old Vietnam Vets who unite to re-enact the Great Escape. Toss into the mix Dennis Waterman...the man who wrote the theme tune & sung the theme tune. (except not on this occasion, but it is a banger soundtrack). Jack Thompson and Roy Billing also star in this 95 minute feature film, plus Max Cullen as the scene stealing Hank (even when he's dead) along with Shane (Full Monty) Jacobson. Together the old diggers are "The Chain Breakers" an elite squad in their day who escaped a torturous POW Camp only to end their lives in a new prison, "The Hogan Hills Retirement Home for Returned Veterans". A nice nod to one of the few Aussies missing from this ensemble, Paul Hogan. I loved the way this movie sensitively handles Dementia, PTSD, and many other mental & physical illnesses, yet lets you roar with laughter or wipe the salt from your eyes in the next moment. This is their last mission and you will cheer them on every inch of their journey. NEVER TOO LATE is a delightful Aussie comedy about love, family, friendship and determination. If you love the smell of mothballs in the morning this could be your next date night.
