Stewart then played a series of news clips featuring several anchors across different networks deliberating over the assailant’s “motive.

Matthew Perry’s doctor, Salvador Plasencia, has agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine to the “Friends” star, who died of an overdose in October 2023.
Plasencia acknowledges in the plea agreement that he repeatedly provided ketamine without a legitimate medical purpose in the weeks leading up to Perry’s death.
The agreement anticipates a prison sentence in the range of 15-21 months, though the sentence will be up to the judge.
Perry was found dead in his hot tub at his home in the Pacific Palisades. He was 54.
Last summer, federal authorities charged Plasencia and four others with responsibility for his death.

Anderson Cooper is one of TV’s best-known news anchors, but his new agent isn’t known for a strict specialty in representing talent tied to video journalism.
Cooper has aligned himself with CAA CEO Bryan Lourd, according to four people familiar with the matter, and the selection is being taken as a possible sign that the CNN mainstay may be looking to explore other opportunities as the economics of TV news become more shaky. If one were to rank all the major streaming services by queerness, Amazon Prime Video would be a pretty tough one to pin down.
On the one hand, you have to give credit where credit is due: One of the service’s very first stabs at original programming was “Transparent,” which in turn was one of the first shows to star a trans main character. That show now has a lot of baggage, but it’s hard to understate its historical significance.
Beyond the thorny topic of “Transparent,” Prime Video does have a good track record of releasing shows with LGBTQ characters and centering their narratives on queer themes; in particular, many of their shows focus on queer women, refreshingly avoiding the centering of gay men that defined queer TV for decades. In 2023, the streamer dropped a phenomenal limited series retelling of David Cronenberg’s “Dead Ringers,” starring Rachel Weisz as twin lesbian gynecologists.

BritBox is delving back into the world of Agatha Christie, but this time without the guiding hand of Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple’s keen eye. Instead, the streamer is turning its attention to Tommy & Tuppence, bringing the escapades of the dynamic and dashing detective duo to life in a new six-part contemporary drama series. Written by Phoebe Eclair-Powell, the series follows a married couple who appear in several of Christie’s novels and short stories, taking up detective work for both fun and profit. What sets the couple apart from other Christie protagonists is their ability to age, as the characters are seen in their early 20s when first introduced and age into their 70s in the later novels. “Christie’s detective duo are witty, sharp, and raring to solve lots and lots of murders whilst asking if they should really be more than just Partners in Crime… To...

Jason Isaacs confirmed in a new interview with Vulture that every cast member on “The White Lotus” Season 3 made $40,000 an episode, bringing their total pay for the series to around $320,000 each. Isaacs noted that sum is actually “a very low price” for such a hugely successful television series.
“I didn’t know that was public knowledge. That’s absolutely true,” Isaacs said. “Generally actors don’t talk about pay in public because it’s ridiculously disproportionate to what we do — putting on makeup and funny voices — and just upsets the public. But compared to what people normally get paid for big television shows,...
