I just don't get why this movie gets a rating of only 5.3 on IMDb. Because it is actually very watchable. I especially like the special effects that were clearly 80's style, during times that CGI wasn't even around the corner.

Further, you can see that a lot of detail has been put in designing great looking sets, from the inner parts of the station, to the inside of the different water vehicles.

Okay, the storyline may have some points that you can criticize, but overall I found this movie a decent watch. Especially if you like underwater adventures and / or movies similar to the "Alien-genre". But at least this movie has a story on its own. That can't be said from e.g. Leviathan, which imo is almost a direct copy of Alien.

I score this movie 6.6/10, making it an IMDb rating of 7 stars. Way better than what the IMDb-page of this movie makes you believe.

This episode is kinda different than the typical "deathrow inmate documentary'.

Because what is the chance that someone's death sentence gets commuted to life in prison just before the moment that he is executed?! This with the possibility to even get parole after serving a minimum of 40 years. Or even earlier if the District Attorney gives his approval. But in some special twist of faith, the brother of the victim is the acting District Attorney. What are the chances of that?!

I therefore think that this episode can best be compared with the situation that someone ends up winning the lottery twice. Only in this case it is not about the happiness that is the result of winning a lottery, but out of the sadness and misery that comes out of a deadly crime that is committed.

Just because of this rare situation, this episode is a recommended watch. I personally do not like the personality of the inmate, but overall I still give this episode a score of 7.3/10.

I often wonder what it takes for a story to be made into a movie. Or maybe otherwise, how a movie to be made, selects a story that it will use?!

Well, in the "Predator Universe", it was pretty clear that they keep expanding by launching new movies or perhaps even a series on it. But who would have thought that Fox Searchlight Pictures - owned by Disney - would make an animation movie in this specific universe?! I wouldn't have expected it at all to be honest?!

Choosing to watch this movie was therefore not an easy decision for me to make. Because, honestly said, I am not a fan of animation movies. On the other hand, I am a fan of the Predator Universe. So, after some thinking I decided to give it a try.

And what an experience it was! It was just such a great story! I am not going to spoil the watch, but I can guarantee you that this movie just keeps delivering! Up until the last second!

This movie confuses me a lot therefore! Why didn't they develop this excellent story in a normal feature film?! One with real actors and stunning CGI?! Because it would have easily resulted in the best Predator movie ever, but also the best overall movie so far in the first half of 2025!!
