This show feels like a bad imitation of a HBO show I've seen.
The character development is severely lacking and the main character's actor "jimmy" is just there?
These apple tv shows are terrible but visual treats.
You don't look forward to the next episode.

I honestly don't see what everyone else sees in this series. I can't fantom giving this anything higher than a three. The story is terrible and done a million times better a million times before. Lead actor is terrible and really needs some acting lessons. This is a terrible show, even for Apple. 👎. Man is it slow. I couldn't mustered the will to watch episode 3 tonight.

Generally, I am very generous with writing reviews. But, this is exceptionally bad. The script appears to be written by a high school student doing a final project. The dialogue is SO bad! Acting isn't much better. No tension, everything is predictable and who has a haircut like the main character in prison. The casting is all wrong. There should have been more gritty characters playing the lead roles. I'm sorry for the actors 😢
If you want to see a prison film please watch "Time " staring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham.

It was neither the glamorization of a mid-level drug dealer, or the lame attemps to garner audience sympathy for the "I wish I was him" macho main character that was the final straw for me with this show. Maybe it should have been, as neither was done with much style.
The final straw was when the first episode created a plea deal double cross that does not exist in real life, and did it for apparently no other reason than 'heightening' the drama.
The level of pandering to the "guy's guy" demographic that this show is attempting should be revolting to any actual grown man. I guess Apple TV needed a "guy show".

Having just struggled through episode 4 out of sheer boredom, I won't waste any more time on this poor production. There's nothing beleievable about any of it. Anyone comparing this to True Detective needs to have a serious think.

Why the hell FBI ask him to do this, they could not find anyone but him? Even himself did not ask "why me" ,he is just a handsome drug dealer, who thinks that he can be a new "Clarice" and do the job... besides, does all the serial killers have to be weirdos? Lots of nonsense things in the series, funny, ...:(

Really disappointing. There is so many things strange and immersion breaking in this show that I have decided to stop watching after episode 4. When you are not a high school kid anymore and you value realistic tv shows like The Wire, Sopranos and similar, that try to give you a realistic view of this world's underbelly, seeing a show like this just feels really off. Like somebody used a beautify filter over this story. Really strange unrealistic conversations, weirdly good-looking inmates with perfect hair, hilarious depiction of a riot, very strange, almost hip pop approach to sound design and soundtrack - most of the time i wasn't sure what the director wanted me to think about this whole story. Very weird and I see this in most of american subscription services. It's probably about producing as much volume in as little time as possible and that's when you get something that more like an ad for iphone then a real serial killer story. Ver strange and off-puting.

Great premise but ruined by giving this Egerton bloke too much power as executive producer. In the first episode alone he's trying to be Di Niro to start then he switches it to Christian Bale in American Psycho.
Such a shame they cast a lead actor with so little self confidence but gave him so much power over his own role.

The first episode made this show look awful. The dialogue between the female FBI agent and Jimmy feels like I'm watching Riverdale. Also lets not talk about the stupid unrealistic typical Hollywood sex scene. Very disappointing, the trailer made this show seem really good, almost got True Detective vibes from it, but instead it feels like im watching a show made for 13 year old kids. The only part that was good, was the last part, when the old detective started working on the case.
