The story wasn't that sweet and it wasn't that funny. There wasn't any real chemistry between Kayla Ewell and Ryan Merriman. If there was chemistry it was between Adam Korson and Sabrina Perez.
There was too much downer in the story. Some of it, I think was supposed to be funny, but it fell flat instead.
Lena's mom was annoying and I agree with the reviewer who said the movie needed less of mom and dad.
I really didn't like the theme that seemed to run just below the surface for most of the movie and then really comes through at the climax - the idea that he can't or shouldn't propose unless he's "good enough" for her. Oren contributed to that and the older couple tried to downplay it. And what was with Oren at the end?

This was a total waste of time
The stupidist plot and the the male lead was terrible
Why he waited to propose was endless drible.
I never got the sense that the two actually were truly in love and then the looming ex boyfriend was just oddly placed. I kept waiting for them to decide to go their separate ways. There was a real disconnect with this script. Like they decided to string together a bunch of events and call it movie. The script was lacking even for a TV movie.
One thing I will say about PixL movies is they highlight the supporting characters. However there could've been a lot less of the parents sitting around discussing their daughter. The side story with the brother and the best friend was a lot more interesting though. They should've told that story instead.
