Unfortunately, this is a murder mystery that has been done many times over. It is predictable and the dialogue is dull at best and laughable at worst. I've seen the exact same plot and story on BBC and was done without insulting the viewers intelligence.

Ruth Negga and Bill Camp give excellent performances even though the dialogue is at times lifted from at daytime soup.

What went wrong with Hollywood that they only can churn out cramp? There seems to be a conspiracy of mediocrity in tinsel town.

In the future APPLE , please insist that stories and character be written in a believable way. Thank you!

Elizabeth Moss is one of my favorite actors. But, she is not a good match for this character and story! The story from the first episode was not believable and kind of silly. It was if it was rushed together on a slow week or weekend. Spy thrillers need to have some elements that allow for suspension of reality so the viewer can get lost in the intrigue. There is nothing here that isn't predictable as far as the plot and characters are concerned.

I will say that the direction in episodes 4-6 is excellent! Damian Thomas is a talented director.

Overall, I enjoyed the actors but was disappointed with the story and premise of show. It's tired and predictable doesn't do justice to the actors involved.

We find Jane Eyre orphaned and mistreated try to survive the cruel home in which she has been placed. Being a survivor Jane learns her lessons well and sets out to make her way in the world. She becomes a governess to a wealthy man and intrigue throws them into each other's arms. Only to be separated by tragedy and deception. But, fate pulls them back together and all is well. It drags in some places but the performances carry it through. Samantha Morton is incredible in the role of Jane Eyre. Her acting alone is worth watching this version.
